Our youngest rockets in kindergarten are learning to soar through math! Kindergarten students have been learning so much over the last few weeks and we caught them being superstars this week in math!

Congratulations to Mrs. Hamby who had her Donors Choose project, “Move to Learn: Building Skills Through Interactive Play” funded as part of a flash funding event! Exponential Scholars, a non-profit whose mission is to help support learners across North Carolina, surprised NC educators on Monday by donating $2.25 million to cover all open Donors Choose projects in NC, including Mrs. Hamby's! This project sends a Nex Playground to her EC classroom. According to Mrs. Hamby, "The Nex Playground would provide an exciting and meaningful way for students to actively participate in learning while also supporting their physical, social, and emotional development. This resource helps students improve gross motor skills, coordination, body awareness, and following directions through movement-based games and activities. It also provides opportunities for students to practice important social skills such as turn-taking, teamwork, communication, patience, and problem-solving in a positive and motivating environment." This resource is a huge asset to her classroom and will help her students succeed. Thank you to Exponential Scholars for supporting Mrs. Hamby's students!
