Celebrating 35 Years of Dedication at
Huntingdon County Career and Technology
Center
After 35 years of outstanding service in education, colleagues, students, and friends are
celebrating the retirement of Michael Douglas, a respected leader and mentor whose career has
left a lasting impact on countless lives.
Beginning his career as an Auto Mechanics Instructor at the Huntingdon County Career and
Technology Center, he quickly earned a reputation for his dedication to students, strong work
ethic, and passion for helping others succeed. In the classroom, he was known not only for
teaching technical skills, but also for encouraging professionalism, confidence, and lifelong
learning among his students.
Over the years, his commitment to excellence and leadership led him into administration, where
he served as Assistant Director of the career and technical center. In that role, he helped guide
programs that prepared students for meaningful careers and future opportunities. His leadership
played an important role in strengthening educational programs, supporting instructors, and
ensuring students received high-quality career and technical education.
Throughout his 35-year career, he remained deeply committed to the mission of education and to
the success of both students and staff. Colleagues admired his steady leadership, approachable
nature, and willingness to help wherever needed. Students appreciated the encouragement and
guidance he provided both inside and outside the classroom.
His retirement marks the close of an incredible chapter defined by service, leadership, and
dedication. While he will certainly be missed by the many people whose lives he touched, his
legacy will continue through the programs he helped build and the students and educators he
inspired along the way.
As he begins this well-deserved retirement, we thank him for his years of commitment and wish
him happiness, good health, and many new adventures in the years ahead.
Congratulations on an exceptional career and a well-earned retirement!
