School Tip: Getting Ready for 26–27! 📚💛

As we get closer to the start of the 2026–2027 school year, there are a few simple things you can do at home to help your child prepare and make the transition back to school a little smoother! 🚌✏️

⏰ Get back into a routine!
Summer schedules can mean later bedtimes and later mornings. Start adjusting bedtime by about 30 minutes at a time so getting back into the school routine isn’t such a shock to the system!

🥪 Practice lunch independence!
Milford School District is a Title I district and provides free breakfast and lunch to all students. If your child plans to pack a lunch, have them practice opening containers, packages, and drinks on their own. This simple practice can help build confidence and independence!

💛 And don’t forget… Meet the Teacher is Friday, August 28th!

Preschool Meet the Teacher will occur on September 3rd from 12:00-11:00

🌟Welcome to Banneker: Ms. Veroy! 🌟

We are so excited to welcome Ms. Angie Veroy to the Banneker family! ❤️💛

Ms. Veroy joins us as our First Grade Spanish Immersion Teacher! 🇪🇸📚 She has been part of the Milford School District since 2018 and has been involved with the Spanish Immersion Program since 2020.

She holds an Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education and a Bachelor’s Degree in Education K–6. 🍎

🏡 Fun fact: Ms. Veroy grew up in Maryland, but Milford has had her heart since 2011! ❤️

She lives in Lincoln with her husband and daughter and loves spending time with her family, traveling, and enjoying the beach. 🏖️✈️☀️

Please join us in giving Ms. Veroy a big Banneker welcome! We are so excited to have her helping our young learners grow, learn, and shine! 🌟

🏈 She loves spending time with her boys and husband, especially while they play football.
