The Evergreen Center was founded in 1982 by Dr. Robert F. to provide day and residential treatment services for children and adolescents with severe developmental disabilities. Evergreen's standard for successful instruction is social competence and community participation. We believe children will develop to their maximum potential when instruction is woven through daily activities and living env

ironments. Evergreen students live in residential neighborhoods and travel to and from our school each day through the Blackstone Valley Massachusetts countryside. Our individualized education programs are based upon the principles of applied behavioral analysis and evidence-based practice. The Evergreen Center employs a multi-disciplinary team of trained professionals responsible for the success of each student's individualized education program. Our parents are involved in all aspects of their child's individualized education program, providing key information and setting realistic goals.

Meet Kayla, an Assistant Clinical Director (ACD) and Behavioral Education Team Supervisor (BETS) at Evergreen!

Kayla first joined our team in 2020 and has since become a key member of our Residential School program. In her role as an ACD, she helps manage clinical initiatives and trains incoming staff, including new BETS. As a BETS herself, Kayla oversees two residential units and coordinates the implementation of students’ clinical programs.

Since joining Evergreen, Kayla has worked across numerous residential units and contributed to a variety of clinical initiatives. These experiences have shaped both her professional path and personal life. One of the most meaningful parts of her role has been forming close relationships not only with students but also with their families. She still stays in touch with families even after their children have graduated and loves hearing updates about how they are doing!

Thank you, Kayla, for your compassion, dedication, and the positive impact you make every day. We’re proud to have you as part of the Evergreen family!

Residents and staff from our Adult Supports program recently attended the Pathways to Friendship and The Arc of Massachusetts 2026 Forum! It was a meaningful day focused on strengthening inclusion within the special needs community.

The event brought together community organizations, families, and individuals with developmental challenges. We participated in hands on activities, shared effective approaches to supporting inclusive communities, and engaged in conversations about fostering supportive, lasting relationships.

Last week, the Evergreen Center welcomed the Milford Fire Department for a special visit focused on safety, education, and building comfort with emergency responders.

Our students had the opportunity to see, touch, and even try on firefighter gear – experiencing the sights and sounds associated with emergency response equipment in a calm, supportive environment. This hands-on experience familiarized students with firefighters and their equipment in a safe setting, helping them feel more at ease and prepared should they encounter these situations in real life.

Thank you to the Milford Fire Department for helping our students learn in such a positive and meaningful way!
