On Monday night, the DAAD Class of 2022 finally graduated after two long, challenging years. Between COVID and campus construction, they had everything thrown at them except for a traditional DAAD experience. And they took it like champs!

You’ve seen what the campus is going to look like after this project is finished. So I want to give you a chance to see some in-progress photos! Look at how crazy this demolition is! The first 2 photos shows the old Community Center with its tiers ripped out. This is going to be the new DAAD lab. Can’t wait to see how this space transforms over the next few months.

It’s hard to imagine we’ll be kicking off the new school year next month! The upcoming year promises to be an exciting one as Live Oaks begins its major remodel. It might be noisy at times, and it may force us to adopt new ways of navigating the building, but wow! It’ll be totally worth it. Just check out the renders we were provided by the architect!

It’s graduation season, and you’ve likely heard words like resilience and perseverance used to describe the Class of 2021. I don’t want to simply repeat the same messaging here but I’m not sure there are words better suited to represent this group. They have endure an educational experience like no other class I’ve taught, and they did so with patience and compassion.
