Tutor Time Childcare in Milford

It's Election time! Tomorrow the Pre-School and Pre-K children will vote for their favorite storybook character! Who will be elected Tutor Time's favorite storybook character? Only the ballots will tell!

This week the children at Tutor Time Milford will create the United States flag and show their patriotic pride by displaying why they are thankful. The Pre-School and Pre-K children will also start to learn the Pledge of Allegiance.

This week the children will be celebrating the Wonders of the Natural World. Pre-K and School Age will go on a Nature Hike where they will learn all about nature and the habitats that surround us. On Wednesday the children will have a chance to experience Wacky Wednesday were they can come in with their hair or clothes in a Wacky way. We will also be reading Wacky Wednesday book by Dr. Seuss. At the end of this week the children and teachers will have a Northern Lights Flash Dance party.

This week the summer campers will be learning about The Wonders of Nature. We have a visitor for Preschool and Pre-K on Tuesday July 23, 2013 and the visitor is Famer Minor. We are very excited to have Farmer Minor and his pig come to Tutor Time Milford. They will be making paintbrushes out of things that we find in our Nature Scavenger Hunt.

Summer camp children will have a visitor on Wednesday July 24. The children will be instructed in Capoiera. Capoiera is a form of dance and martial arts. The children can’t wait to see what the instructor has in store for them. They will be having a Carnival Dance and Parade on Thursday July 25, 2013.

This week in summer camp we are focusing on Wonder of the Ancient World. Preschool will learn the dance "Pressing The Grapes" and they will be also making Pharaoh Headdresses. They will be making Greek Ice cream on Thursday July 11, 2013.

Our Summer Camp will be going on their first field trip of the summer season. They will be going to Silver Sands on Thursday July 11, 2013 for a fun day at the beach. They will also be making Mud Brick Buildings and Medusa’s wigs. Our Summer Campers will be going swimming every Friday starting on July 12 to August 16, 2013.

This week at Tutor Time in Milford it will be Pen pal Friendship Week!
This week our Preschool and Pre K classrooms will be writing friendship letters & making friendship bracelets to send over to our Tutor Time friends in Norwalk and Shelton. In our Infant, Toddler, Twaddler and Prepper classrooms the children will learn to sign “friends” in sign language and they will be making friend ship pictures to share with each other.

This week at Tutor Time tor Time we will be celebrating “Pet Week” The children are welcome to bring in a photo of their pet or a photo of a pet they would like to have. The children will get to share with their friends all about their pets. In our Infant, Toddler, Twaddler and Prepper room the children will be making their own pet out of construction paper. In our Preschool, Pre-k and B&A rooms the kids will be creating and naming their own animal out of recycled material.

This week at Tutor Time we will be making a Tutor Time Family Quilt. We welcome parents and family members to come in and decorate a section of our “Family Quilt”. You will get to decorate a square with your child. If you would like-you may bring in a family photo to place in our quilt. We will display the quilt in the lobby for all to see.

It was in July of 1921 that the Eskimo Pie was first made by Christian Kent Nelson. A bar of ice cream was covered in chocolate and viola! The Eskimo Pie was born!! In our Infant, Trans, Toddler, Twaddler and Prepper classrooms the children will be making their own ice cream sundaes. In our Preschool and Pre K rooms the children will be recreating their own Eskimo Pies. Bon Appétit!

On Wednesday January 16 we will have our annual Winter Wonderland Social here at Tutor Time. Please join us from 5:30-6:30 for a family fun night of decorating cookies, making our own snowflakes and so much more! Don’t miss out on the family fun!

This week at Tutor Time the children will be talking about “What they are thankful for.” We are inviting all parents to come to Tutor Time on Weds 11/21 at 12:00 PM for our Thanksgiving Feast. In our Infant, Transition, Toddler, Twaddler and Prepper rooms they will be making their own turkeys and placemats for our Thanks giving Feast. In our Preschool and Pre-k rooms the children will making Indian and Pilgrim hats to wear at the Thanksgiving Feast. We hope to see you there!

Monday Nov 12th is world Kindness Day. The children will be reading books about kindness and then discussing ways they can be kind to their friends at school. The Preschool, Pre K and School Age children will create a list of actions they can take at home to show kindness to their families. In our Infant, Transition, Toddler, Twaddler and Prepper classrooms the children will be making their own kindness cards and posting them for our families to see.
