Horse shoeing is an age old tradition. If you have a passion for horses or have ever wanted to work in the equine industry, than a career as a farrier may just be the ticket for you.
For the affordable price of $6500, Cowtown Horseshoeing School provides an 8 week course that will teach you all the essentials needed to start your own horseshoeing business (lodging for the course is included in this price). Our school uses bookwork, video lectures and demonstrations, and hands-on, real world experience with lives horses, burros, and mules to teach every student the foundations of trimming, shoeing, and forge work. Armed with these skills, our graduates have gone on to start and run thriving businesses for the last 27 years.
The horseshoeing industry is huge, and every top professional has one thing in common; a strong understanding of anatomy and what it takes to make a horse soundly move at any speed from a walk to a run. I was fortunate enough to study under the most knowledgeable veterinarian and the founder of Natural Balance Hoof Care himself, Gene Ovnecik. The things I learned helped me to build my own successful 50 year career and I've used those lessons to build the our school's curriculum. By focusing on mapping the hoof, our school teaches every student how to trim or shoe a horse in a method that leaves them more sound and healthy than before and their customer's singing their praise.
