Superintendent Chris M. McCully highlighted a unique opportunity for community partnership during EHOVE’s ongoing facility project in a recent post on his Instagram, !

On Monday, October 5, Milan Township Fire Department conducted training at the EHOVE campus in the Health & Human Services Building. This provided firefighters with a unique training opportunity because the building had been prepped for its demolition, which began the next day as part of EHOVE’s facility project.

“We appreciate EHOVE’s commitment to public safety and the strong working relationship with our department. The skills we learned will benefit all businesses and residents of Milan Township,” said Chief Brian Rospert after describing how the firefighters were able to complete training on multiple vital skills, including forcible entry, which is essential to learning the techniques of prying open doors, as well as roof ventilation on a commercial building. He said being able to access a commercial roof and cut through three layers of foam board insulation and the metal membrane enhanced the firefighters’ skills and knowledge of the different techniques needed to get the job done. They also took the opportunity to perform triangle cuts on the ventilation system to simulate cutting through garage doors to make entry.

As a community partner, EHOVE is proud to provide space that can be used to support the important work happening throughout our community. Our campus is more than a place for education - it is a community resource. We appreciate the many organizations that use our facilities for training, professional development and other purposeful activities that benefit the areas we serve.
