Who is excited for our next youth baking class, because I know that I am! TOMORROW AUGUST 5th, at the community center starting at 2:30pm we will be hosting our 2nd class. This class with help youth learn basic life skills that will help them in the future. If you have ANY questions or concerns please contact the Sullivam County Extension Office at (660)265-4541. I will see you tomorrow, Wednesday, August 5th at 2:30pm!

Yesterday, July 29th, we had our very first youth baking class. We had 3 young ladies ready to learn and bake hands on. We learned many different life skills and well as being able to talk to our friends. Some of the skills we learned was, stove safety, safe handling, the difference in measurements, and so much more. These girls had such a great time! We made granola bars and I might be biased, but they were FANTASTIC! If you would like to join the fun, we still have two more classes available on August 5th & August 12th at the Milan Community Center starting at 2:30 P.M. and roughly ending around 4-4:30P.M. Join us for the Regional Grazing School August 25–27, 2026, in Williamstown, MO.

This three-day, hands-on workshop will cover management intensive grazing, animal nutrition, forage and soil basics, fencing, water systems, grazing design, and more—plus farm tours and field exercises.

Cost is $110 per person ($50 for an additional participant from the same farm), which includes materials and lunch each day. Space is limited.

In 2 weeks, we will have our first baking class! Just a reminder, it is July 29th, starting at 2:30pm and roughly ending around 4:30 pm. This is a great way for our youth to learn new and important skills while being able to have fun, talk to their friends and make memories. I can't wait to see all the youth in our community on July 29th at the Milan Community Center.
