Flight Test Day 1!
Every great flight starts with learning, and for our Aviation Careers students, it starts with the willingness to design, build, test, break, and start over.

Yesterday, our students put their very first build projects to the test. And while not every project took flight exactly as planned, that’s where the real learning happens.

Aviation is about problem-solving. It’s about understanding why something didn’t work, making adjustments, testing again, and refusing to stop until you get it right.

And in the words of aviation legend Mike Patey:
“Machine it, draft it, build it, test it, break it. Every time something new gets built, the entire world advances.”

That mindset is exactly what we want our students to embrace. Design. Build. Test. Break. Start over.

Because every failure teaches us something. Every adjustment makes us better. And every new build gets us one step closer to something that soars.

Yesterday was just Day 1. By the end of this project, these Warhawks will soar!

And just like that… our students are getting to work!

A huge thank you to McConnell's Wrecker Service for generously donating their time to deliver project vehicles to our Collision Repair Technology program.

Donnie and Louis gave a portion of their day to make sure our students had the hands-on resources they need. Judging by the photo, our students didn’t waste any time putting those resources to work!

These project vehicles give our students the opportunity to tear in, troubleshoot, practice their skills, and gain the real-world experience that prepares them for success in the collision repair industry.

We’re grateful to Donnie, Louis, and the entire McConnell’s Wrecker Service team for investing their time, resources, and support in our students.

Your partnership helps our students get hands-on today so they can be built for what’s next.

Leadership is more than making the tough calls. It’s about continued growth.

It’s reading a leadership book, and yes, this is our subtle plug for “Unreasonable Hospitality” by Will Guidara. Thanks, Dr. Rick Cobb, for the recommendation!

It’s belonging to professional organizations. It’s surrounding yourself with people who push for excellence. And sometimes, it’s stepping up to lead those organizations.

Our own Assistant Superintendent, Becki Foster, served as President of the Oklahoma Association of Technology Centers this past year.

During today’s OATC membership meeting, Mid-Del Schools Board President Dr. Kirk joined Foster as they celebrated MDTC’s Gold Star School achievement. Foster then wrapped up her year as president by passing the gavel to the organization’s next leader.

We are proud of Foster’s leadership, her commitment to professional growth, and the way she represents Mid-Del Technology Center and Mid-Del Public Schools across Oklahoma.

Thank you, Becki, for representing Mid-Del well!

Before the first week even had a chance to finish, our students were already connecting with industry professionals!

A big thank you to Comfort Wave Home Services for spending time with our Plumbing students and investing in the next generation of skilled professionals.

These opportunities don’t happen by accident. Mr. Ringwald’s dedication to his students and strong connections with industry give them an edge as they prepare to enter the workforce.

This is what it looks like when education and industry work together.

We were honored to welcome middelschools Board of Education President Dr. Kirk to Mid-Del Technology Center this morning!

One of the things we appreciate about our Board of Education is how actively involved each member is in our district. They take time to visit our schools, connect with our people, and better understand the work happening across Mid-Del.

Dr. Kirk’s visit to MDTC was another example of that commitment. She spent time visiting with our staff and students and saw firsthand the preparation and hard work happening across our campus.

We are grateful for Dr. Kirk and each member of our Board of Education for investing their time in the people and programs they serve.

Thank you, Dr. Kirk, for your visit and seeing how MDTC is Built for What’s Next!

Congratulations to our latest group of Aircraft Structural Technology students on completing their short-term course.

Over the past several weeks, they’ve built hands-on skills in aircraft structural maintenance, including working with tools and equipment, corrosion control, fasteners, metal forming, structural repairs, and the technical data used throughout the aviation industry.

Now they’re ready for what’s next!

The demand for skilled workers in the aircraft industry continues to grow, and for those willing to learn the trade, there is real potential for a rewarding, life-changing career.

We’re proud of this group and excited to see where their new skills take them.

If you’ve been looking for a way to get into the aviation industry, our next Aircraft Structural Technology class begins September 8.

There’s something pretty special about MDTC.

Of the 29 technology centers across Oklahoma, we’re the only one that is part of a K-12 public school district. We’re proud to be part of Mid-Del Public Schools.

It’s a unique partnership, and it’s a win for our students, our district, and the communities we serve.

Being named a 2026 OKACTE Gold Star School is something we’re proud of, but we don’t do this work alone.

Thank you, Mid-Del Schools, for your partnership and for believing in what we do.

This Gold Star belongs to you too!

We’re proud to be MDTC, and proud to be Mid-Del!

Congratulations to the Mid-Del Technology Center Team on receiving the prestigious Gold Star Recognition! 🏆⭐

Our Board of Education was proud to recognize the MDTC team for this outstanding achievement and their continued commitment to providing exceptional opportunities and preparing students for success beyond the classroom.

We are proud of the incredible work happening at Mid-Del Technology Center!
