Applications for the next Two-Year Foundations Program cohort close September 9.
Two years, full-time. Six trimesters, about 35 to 40 hours a week, working through the full drawing foundations sequence with a cohort beside you and live weekly critique from NMA faculty. You graduate with a portfolio of five to ten finished works.
“The 2-year program is really difficult. It is hard work, but if you trust the process and you put the time in, you will definitely see results and you’ll probably see them faster than you thought you would.”
Kirsten Griffiths, in the program
Several of the live classes were built for this program and exist nowhere else in the NMA library. You study with faculty including Iliya Mirochnik, Bill Perkins, and Catherine Bobkoski.
Tuition is $5,500 a year, $11,000 for the two years. One year at a school like RISD or Pratt runs over $60,000 in tuition alone. Two full-ride need-based scholarships are available this cohort to accepted students who meet the financial requirements. Applying costs $100. The fee is non-refundable, and it is credited toward your tuition if you are accepted.
The cohort begins September 21. Apply at go.nma.art/2-year, link in bio.
