I have the most incredible staff. This month they are focusing on belonging. Together with our parents we are creating little momentos about our family around the school. Here’s Celine, our nursery teacher, making blocks with a 1 year old about her family.
They are print family photos and laminate them to blocks for the other children to play with.

Here we don’t leave our families for the day. They are part of our daily lives.

Ps- yes Celine is pregnant! Her baby will be joining our village in the spring!

When I was a kid our outdoor theater had a sign “without vision the people perish”. Every summer they would put on musicals, Shakespeare, orchestras and more and yet the sign hanging above the stage was probably the most memorable. I come back to it whenever I get afraid. Today we received word that our planning permit has been approved. Also we only need one more form for our building permit! We are so close to building this new vision in midtown…a cowork + nursery school that serves 70 more families. Thanks to ATELIER SUNHOUSE for the inspo. I loved seeing your space!!!!!

The best news! Harvard Alumni Launch Lab here we come. We were chosen to participate in the Harvard’s year round incubator for business ideas. Through their mentorship we will develop the Blue Crèche Collective a way for teachers to become directors and directors to become owners. Our moonshot is to build 100 schools in 10 years through mentorship to ownership. Here’s to changing modern parenting! Harvard Innovation Labs

The number one reason we give our staff 3 weeks of paid vacation—- “because they are only two once!”

Sometimes in America we think grind cultural is normal. Meanwhile around the globe families take an entire month off together. We know that teachers are parents, sisters, daughters, and aunts too! We offer them 3 weeks paid vacay and 18 paid holidays so they can focus on the most important people in their lives.

This month, I took my own advice and headed out of the country for 17 days. I’m coming back refreshed and full. My time with viva and George is priceless.
