📢SURVEY OF SCHOOL-BASED MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES
COMPLETE BY SEPT 29th

The Virginia Behavioral Health Commission, a non-partisan commission of the Virginia General Assembly, is studying ways to maximize access to school-based mental health services. This study was requested by the General Assembly through the 2022-2024 Budget. This study includes evaluating:

- Current reach of school-based mental health services,
- Connecting mental health clinical interventions (Tier 2/3) to school settings,
- Referrals and compensation including use of Medicaid for qualified mental health professionals,
- Initiatives such as youth peer support specialists, recovery high schools, and school-based health centers.

The Commission will make recommendations about strategies to implement and expand school-based mental health services by December 1, 2023.

Your voice is important! Please complete the survey and share it with others so that, together, we can help improve access to youth mental health services in Virginia.

👏 Thank you to those who have made direct donations - We've had about 100 families donate! Because of their generosity, we have been able to stock our teachers lounge! You can donate anytime on PTBoard! All donations are tax deductible and go directly back to our wonderful school!

Our first running club of the year was a great success! The weather was gorgeous and we had 73 Roadrunners come out to help us kick it off by completing a total of 616 laps… that’s 154 miles!!! A big shout out to 2nd grader Charlie Nelson for having the most laps with 17!

If you didn’t get a chance to join us today, come on out next week! Running club is flexible and you can come whenever it is convenient for you. Reminders going forward…

1. Join PTBoard if you haven’t already!... Then log in and join the Running Club group so you don’t miss any communication from us!

2. Please remind your kids of our running club ground rules, as we had a few not following all of the rules this morning…

*You must stay on the track or by the bleachers! Any child who continues to go into the trees/woods/soccer fields after reminders from us may not be able to continue
participating in running club. We do not want that to happen!!! So please make sure
your child understands the importance of this rule!

*Please keep hands/bodies to yourself. No pushing or grabbing others while running! This could be dangerous for anyone involved.

*Please remember your Robious Ways and use your INTEGRITY! Don’t cut the field, only collect one bracelet for each lap you complete and report only the number of total laps you completed at the end. This way running club can remain fair for everyone!

We can always use extra help, so please stick around if you are able to! See you next week on the track! 💙💛

📢REMINDER! Running Club starts TOMORROW!

🏃Come enjoy the outdoors, hang out with friends, and get your morning wiggles out before school with some good old-fashioned exercise. Start time is 8:15am, but you can come any time after that.

🏃‍♀️Parents are welcome to stay or drop off. We just ask that you sign your child in if you are dropping off. We will walk over to school together around 9:10. If you would like to help out with running club, we can always use a few extra people to keep the kids on the track, record laps and herd the kids over to the school at the end.

🏃We will send communication regarding weather cancellations via
PTBoard, so please make sure to join the Running Club group!
