This past week, students in 5th grade learned about the history of a parachute, velocity, air resistance, and gravity last week. They constructed a parachute from tissue paper and designed a basket to hold the egg. The egg was to remain un-cracked after being dropped from 15 feet. This group of students had a very high percentage of success. Way to go STEAM engineers!!
From the Troupe Director, Miss Butterworth: "Thank you so much for attending out first annual International Thespian Society Induction. As our program continues to expand, more opportunities open up for our students. Today, we embark on new opportunities and connections with the international drama community.
These nine students will pioneer our school as we interact with drama troupes and productions from around the world. I hope that these connections will foster a deeper love of theater, acting workshops, more diverse backstage curriculum, conferences, and theater competitions. Here's to more drama adventures in more stages."

In the final faculty-student showdown this school year, select faculty and staff took to the pitch to take on members of the Girls' Varsity Soccer team. The first half started off well for the teachers as they got a goal from former "football" (soccer) professional, and our current head of school, Mr. Ryan. The girls were not phased however as they got a goal of their own after a mishandle by goalkeeper Mr. Sjogren. After a near miss by Coach Poston, he was able to seal the deal with a hard fought goal as the teachers went into the half with the lead by the score of 2-1.
Age is always a factor - time takes a toll and wears our "elders" down. With that in mind, the teachers paced themselves and found a way to add on to their lead with goals from the dynamic duo of Mr. Ryan and Coach Poston on the group's way to their first win against the students in several tries. Here's to the next showdown. Go bobcats!
This past Monday we celebrated our fall, winter, and spring sports teams as well as our individual student athletes. Awards were given on conditions of most improved and most valuable as well as the coach's award. Congratulations to all bobcats on an amazing and hard fought year in sports!
Today was "Rule the School" day for two lucky lower school students having shared the winning bid at this past spring's annual Auction & Gala event. 1st graders, June and Saylor enjoyed making the rules at school alongside Mr. Ryan. The day began with leading this morning's Monday Morning Meeting followed by having a special off-campus lunch with Mr. Ryan and Mrs. Phiri, and concluding with some fun out in the playground! What a fun day!!
