Gold wins! What an exciting day it was to cap off another school year. Students competed in a variety of activities in the annual “Blue & Gold Games”. Thanks to Coach Poston and Coach Jackson for organizing one of the best games yet. Have a great summer Bobcats!
Powerful moments en la clase de español! As we wrapped up the school year in Spanish 1A, we reflected on what we have learnt and will take with us. Everybody suggested something and this is the list we all agreed on. Each class we take is not only about the specific content but also about developing skills and habits we can then apply in life. Profe Dutto is super proud of how her students started their language learning journey! Felices vacaciones a todos! Keep in touch with the language over the summer!
As has been tradition to celebrate our 5th grade transitional period from lower to middle school, students lined the halls in Founders Hall as they “clapped up” Mrs. Struiksma’s class. What a wonderful moment for these students as they embark on a new chapter here at Millwood!
In Mrs. Taillon’s final kindergarten performance, her students put on quite the show in front of their families and friends. Oceanside Café - the longest running production at Millwood. 16 years! We will miss those colorful costumes and beautiful backdrops.
Mrs. Thompson and Mrs. Reynold’s third grade students took to the outdoors on a recent nature walk in a neighboring community. Here are a few shots from such a beautiful day! (Photos Courtesy of Mr. Batt)
Who doesn’t love donuts?! How about donuts with dads? Our junior kindergarteners had a tasty date with each of their dads this past week. It was a beautiful day being with loved ones while enjoying a few treats and many smiles!
We remember and honor those who gave the ultimate sacrifice.
On this Memorial Day we wanted to share a patriotic celebration our 4th graders put on this past Friday in Robinson Hall. The “4th Grade Float Parade” saw our students showcase our states in unique and creative forms. Here are a few examples!
Mr. Fox’s 6th grade math students are always busy problem solving. Here they are working through their “order of operations” boot camp!
This past week 3rd grade students took to the podium to give their persuasive speeches. There were many credible arguments made on a variety of topics. Just another example of how Millwood promotes the skill of public speaking in its lower grades.

At each year's Millwood Gala, a sought after item up for bid is "Rule the School" where a student is able to be Head of School for a day giving Mr. Ryan the day off from his duties. Today, Kate Winslow from 5th grade went to work.
From leading our All-School Monday Morning Meeting to providing a school-wide morning message to visiting classrooms, she did a wonderful job. She even had a quick bite to eat for lunch with Mr. Ryan. Here are a few highlights from Kate's very busy day!
Millwood held its final All-School MMM in Robinson Hall with special awards given out to our sports teams. We also heard from our SCA candidates who gave speeches on each of their positions to help grow the school in their appointed roles.
Welcome to our final All-School Monday Morning Meeting of the school year!
This past week, Lower School students had the pleasure of listening to Jonathan Miller, author and Illustrator of The Adventures of Sammy the Wonder Dachshund which follows the adventures of Sammy the Wonder Dachshund, who holds the very important job of Internet. Students were able to get a sense of how Mr. Miller created this wonderful story as well as how long he worked on his illustrations. Very interesting!
This past week, Millwood families partook in a NHS and NJHS sponsored Food Drive in partnership with Puritan Cleaners.
This food drive will benefit "Feed More". Matt DiNardo WRIC Meteorologist from ABC 8News - WRIC and Sara Moncrieff from Puritan Cleaners and the 100K Meals Team visited our school to pick up all of the 496 pounds of food donations. That's just over 413 meals for families in need. What a wonderful showing of support!
Mrs. Botteicher and Mrs. Zehrer's first grade students took to the podium as their favorite famous Americans!
Ms. Matheus’s AP Research students enjoyed a well-deserved celebration after culminating their year-long journey through AP Research. This ”quest” consisted of an extensive year-long college-level Research Paper and POD (Presentation and Oral Defense). Kudos to these seniors for not sinking in the sea of Academic Papers dwelling in the repositories of EBSCO and creating meaningful papers! Congrats Seniors!
This afternoon Millwood Faculty and Staff took to the hardwood in Cornerstone Gym against the Boys' JV Basketball team. The teachers started off strong with a 6-5 first quarter lead led by Coach Poston. The second quarter turned up the heat as both teams traded shots with a tied game at the midway point - 16-16. Coach Jackson and Mr. Fox were the team leaders in points. However, that would not be enough as the JV squad decided to take control running away with the overall 46-21 victory!
