The post recital clean up! The washing, spraying, drying, folding of costumes has begun. Next, the reorganizing and putting away.

So many memories and amazing moments at recital yesterday. One of my favorites was watching one of our new, younger class assistants step into the wing with some of our youngest dancers. She held their hands backstage, guided them to their wing, helped corral them as they came off stage and guide them back to the dressing room before she took her turn onstage. Yesterday was bittersweet as we lose so many graduating seniors, but watching the next group step up into their shoes made me feel all is going to be ok. It’s not always about your competition level, or what amazing trick you’ve learned, sometimes it’s the sweet quiet moments.

More results from the recent digital feis….Congratulations to Raaina who has a first place slip jig, treble jig, and second place single jig. Teagan with a first place slip jig, Hazel with a second place single jig, and Kim with a first place slip jig and a not too shabby 4th in her traditional set.

The last of our seniors is Emily who is a recent graduate of the Maggie L. Walker Governor’s School. Emily has been part of our performing companies and has attended Worlds recalling in her solos and the traditional set competitions. She has earned her grades 1-7 and has attended Riverdance Camp. She will be off to Brunel University in England this August. Come join Emily and our 6 other seniors at their final recital today!
