Meet the Teacher/Drop off School Supplies
Thursday, August 15 is our Meet the Teacher/Drop Off School Supplies Event. Please see the times for your child listed below. This is an opportunity for you and your child to meet your child’s teacher and drop off their school supplies in the classroom before the first day of school.
1:00-2:00 Kindergarten Orientation in the Cafeteria
2:00-3:00 Grades 1-5 Last Names A-L in the teacher’s classroom
3:00-4:00 Grades 1-5 Last Names M-Z in the teacher’s classroom
Our school hours are 9:10-3:55. Students who are car riders may not enter into the school until 9:10AM. Please do not drop off students on our sidewalk until 9:10 as staff are not outside on duty until that time. Student arrival is from 9:10-9:25. Student dismissal begins at 3:55 and typically is completed by 4:10PM. Please note there is usually increased traffic the first few weeks of school and it may take longer than usual for arrival and departure times until all students settle into their routines.
Car Rider Parent Pick Up tags are now available in our main office to pick up. They are blue this year. If your child did parent pick up last year then we have a tag ready for you in your child's classroom you may pick up on Meet the Teacher Day Aug 15. If you have more than one child at SRES your tags will be in your oldest child's classroom. At dismissal please have your blue parent pick up tag visbile in your passenger side window until your child is picked up in the loop. Please pull all the way up in the loop at pick up so we can expedite getting as many cars as possible off of Spring Run Rd as quickly as possible. Please always turn right when exiting Spring Run at dismissal time. We will once again have a Chesterfield police office directing traffic at our entrance in the AM/PM.
We please ask for NO visitors during student lunch times until the week of Sept 9 to allow for our staff/students time to learn and understand the lunch routines and schedules. Beginning Sept 9 visitors may have lunch with only their own child in the designated visitor lunch area along the back windows in the cafe. All visitors will enter the building via the new vestibule, come into the main office and have their license/ID scanned into our Raptor System to get a sticker to wear while visiting the school. When leaving the school please take the sticker off and scan it again at our Raptor Kiosk in the office.
Chesterfield schools have many volunteer opportunities available, both in person and virtual. Most volunteers must complete an application which goes through a central approval process that includes a background check. This could take two to four weeks, so be sure to allow ample time for your application to be reviewed before you plan to volunteer. Click here to apply to be a volunteer https://www.oneccps.org/page/volunteer
You must submit an application if you plan to:
Chaperone a field trip
Advise a club or sports team
Participate in mentor groups
Work with students unsupervised
You do not have to submit an application if you are:
Visiting for lunch
Helping in the library or office
A college student in classrooms for program credit
18 & under
A supervised classroom helper such as a room mom, assisting with a class party, etc.
Transportation Updates
Transportation planning is underway for the coming school year. All families are asked to update student transportation information by logging into ParentVUE to choose the way students will travel to and from school and to check your home address and any alternative addresses. Easy-to-follow directions for accessing ParentVUE are online, and your student’s school can provide additional assistance.
Addresses: There are two ways to update your student’s address:
School registrar: A student’s home address can only be entered by the registrar at the student’s school.
ParentVUE: Parents/guardians can make changes to transportation information by logging into ParentVUE, clicking the student’s name, then clicking on student info.
Alternative addresses are places students stay before or after school on a regular basis (for example: alternating custodial parent addresses). Families use ParentVUE to update alternative addresses and pickup/drop-off days as often as needed.
Once students are routed, parents can see their child's route on the My Bus Stop App or via the Versatrans App.
Families are asked to keep up-to-date student transportation information by logging into ParentVUE and checking your home address and any alternative addresses. For a link to ParentVUE and more details, go to oneccps.org/parentvue-studentvue.
Prekindergarten, kindergarten or early childhood special education students may sit with an older sibling at the front of the bus.
Bus stops are placed in the safest location possible with a maximum walking distance of 0.3 miles for students in grades K-5 and 0.5 miles for students in grades 6-12 when possible during the school year; distances may be greater during summer school.
Bus stop information is available to parents via e-Link by using a student’s ID to sign in. Routes and stops are subject to change at any time.
Students must be at their bus stop five minutes before their bus is due to arrive. School buses will not wait for students.
The My Stop web and mobile application allows you to locate your child’s bus via GPS tracking to see where the bus is and its estimated arrival to your bus stop. The bus location is updated on the map every five seconds so there are no surprises in the event of a delay. Here’s how to access My Stop:
Via app: Search for My Stop in the app store and select “Versatrans My Stop.” There are several My Stop apps; choose the Versatrans version.
Via computer: chesterfield.tylertech.com/elinkrp/
Express cards (or radio frequency identification cards) add an extra level of safety for the youngest students as they board and disembark school buses.
Cards will be issued to PK-5 students to be used throughout their school years in Chesterfield County Public Schools. Students should bring their cards to school every day; they may be used on the bus, in the school library and in the school cafeteria.
Students place the card against a sensor as they board and disembark. The tablet will make a happy sound if the student is boarding/disembarking at the correct locations.
Parents can use My Stop to follow the bus the student rides, and the points at which the student enters and leaves the bus are recorded.
The cards do not track students. The cards only associate students to the bus they are riding so parents know where their students are and drivers know which stops are the correct stops.
First Day of School

Dear Spring Run Families,
I hope each of you had a wonderful summer filled with relaxation, adventure, and memorable moments with family and friends.
Our dedicated teachers and staff have been working diligently to prepare engaging and enriching experiences for all our students for this new school year. We are eager to embark on a journey of learning, growth, and achievement together with you and your child.

I wanted to take this opportunity to share some important back to school dates and information with you.

Construction of our new visitor vestibule in our main lobby is finishing up in the next few days. This new vestibule provides another layer of safety/security at our school as all visitors will now enter via the vestibule. Visitors then go directly into the main office to sign in to the Raptor System. Once the visitor has a sticker then they are buzzed out of the office via another door into the main lobby.
Our school has also hired a School Security Officer who will be present at the school everyday to help ensure school safety and security. We will also have a Chesterfield police officer directing traffic at our school entrance at arrival and dismissal times.
