Weaver Rock
The Weaver Spirit Rock is located in front of the school and can be reserved by parents or other BWE friends who would like to paint a message of celebration, encouragement, or fun (think student and teacher birthdays, fun school events, and messages of appreciation). To sign up you must review the Sign-up Genius for an opening and reserve the date to paint either the Front ($25) or the Back ($15) of the Weaver Rock. To complete your reservation you must pay the usage fee through the Store link on the new PTA Store within the week following your reservation request.

You may begin painting your reserved Side of the Rock starting at 2pm on the date that you paid for and it will remain with your design until the next date someone has reserved (typically ~ 48 hours). Dates to reserve the rock are till the end of Dec. More dates will be released at a later time so be sure to check future newsletters.

Happy Feet - Register Wednesday!

Our weekly Friday running club is back! Happy Feet 2024/25 is finally here! On Friday mornings, Happy Feet students will gather at the back of the school at 8:45am and run lap with friends around the Weaver track. Every lap gets a stamp, and every Friday they receive a foot keychain. We will have Fall AND Spring registrations to give more opportunities for students to experience this great club! There are a limited number of 200 spots to ensure everyone's safety.

Registration for the Happy Feet Fall Season will go live on Wed, Aug 28th at 7:30am and can found at https://app.givebacks.gives/bweptaclubs

Many of you participated in Taekwon Cho's Family Martial Arts Summer fundraiser - thank you! We raised $500 and are grateful for Taekwon Cho's partnership.

We're on the hunt for a new feathered friend to take on the role of Big Blue! Think you have what it takes to soar to new heights? Read on!

Job Responsibilities:
-Soar with Pride: Embrace your inner bluebird and flap, waddle, or moonwalk at school events. Extra points if you can imitate an actual bird call without sounding like a malfunctioning kazoo.
-Cheerleader Supreme: Hype up the crowds of all ages at events. Must be able to high-five children of various heights without tripping over your own wings.

Qualifications:
-Must be Extremely Bird-Like: A genuine love for flapping around in a giant bluebird costume. Previous experience pretending to be a bird is a plus, but not required.
-Energetic Personality: Ability to keep up the energy level of a toddler who’s had three helpings of cotton candy.
-Exceptional People Skills: Must handle enthusiastic students, baffled teachers, and occasional curious pets with grace and a sense of humor.

STEAM CLUB announcement!

Open to 3rd-5th graders. STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics) Club meets the second Thursday of the month from Sept-March. Various STEAM challenges will be sent out from the county STEAM leader and our team will attempt to solve them. Spots are limited to 40 students and there is a fee of $65 to cover supplies. Parents will be asked to help at meetings.

Fully stop for both busses and those at crosswalks. Let's make sure all students arrive safely at school and back home at the end of the day!

Have you wondered what BWE PTA does? Well here is an answer! The short answer is we support our students, staff and school. We will post instructions on how to join the PTA next week!
