Thank you to all who have already contributed to our Diaper Drive! Our mountain is growing, but we're hoping it will be much taller by FRIDAY, MARCH 24, and that Diaper Drive Ambassador, Sarah Bloom NBC12, will need a truck to collect all your generous donations!
Please help SPP grow our Diaper Drive donation pile over the next three days with new, unopened packages of diapers, wipes, and pull-ups in all sizes although there is a particular need for sizes 5, 6, and 7.

Former SPP mom and NBC news anchor, Sarah Bloom, is Chesterfield County's first ever Diaper Drive Ambassador, spreading the word about the 10th Annual Diaper Drive supporting children and families served by programs such as Chesterfield-Colonial Heights Families First and Infant & Toddler Connection of Chesterfield.
SPP is joining the effort! We are collecting new, unopened packages of diapers. All sizes, from newborn to pull-ups are welcome, as are baby wipes, although there is a particular need for sizes 5, 6, and 7.
SPP will collect diapers, pull-ups, and wipes Monday, March 20th through Friday, March 24th.
Donations may be delivered to the preschool through the car line, sent in with your child, or brought into the preschool.

SPP would like to recognize the generosity of our families and staff who contributed to our Christmas service project. We collected a whopping 180 pairs of pajamas for the Great Bedtime Story Pajama Drive. Every pair of pajamas was paired with a book from Scholastic Books and distributed to local children. Thank you so much for helping us surpass our goal and participating in an event that let our children help other children in need!

Monday's Flood Update: While the process of drying out is well underway, we still have 4 of our 8 classrooms that are out of commission. They will most likely be unusable for at least this week, although we are working on setting up temporary classrooms. We are going to have the children start back in two shifts. Tomorrow the following can return for their regular weekly schedule: Mrs. Melton's, Mrs. Smith's, Mrs. Kratson's, and Mrs. Scott's classes.
Unfortunately, we have to ask the following classes to give us one more day for planning purposes before returning to their typical weekly schedule: Mrs. Kuehn's, Mrs. Lucidi's, Mrs. Weatherilt's, and Mrs. Neville's classes.
Please check your email for more info.

SPP is partnering with First Priority Occupational Therapy to offer OT screenings to our students. We are so excited to be able to work with this amazing group of individuals. Occupational therapists have a unique professional background to assess and target specific developmental milestones and benchmarks to prepare young children for success in school, home, and the community. Our ultimate goal is to help to encourage independent and confident lifelong learners.
Screenings will begin on January 19th and 20th and will go into next week as well. Families received an email last night with more information from First Priority OT, skills checklists, and the screening permission form.

SPP will be following the lead of CCPS and closing school tomorrow, January 4th. We will look forward to having the children back with us on Wednesday the 5th.
Thank you to those who have been so transparent about their COVID exposures and positive cases within their family. This information helps us to ensure we are able to operate in the safest way possible throughout this surge.
01/02/2022
SPP is delaying our first day back from the holiday break until Tuesday, January 4th. The impending inclement weather is a factor, but we have received several emails alerting us to recent covid exposures and positive cases within our families' households. Please let Marie know if anyone in your household has tested positive for covid since December 18th or if your student has had a direct exposure to anyone known to be positive for the covid virus at any point throughout our break. We will work with covid-positive and exposed students to ensure they come back to school in an appropriate time frame.
Our goal is to keep our classrooms and school open as we get through these next few weeks. We appreciate your help with this endeavor. Thank you so much for your understanding.
