Clover Hill District Supervisor Jessica Schneider is planning to host two community conversations with Clover Hill District residents, providing citizens the opportunity to discuss issues important to them, ask questions, and brainstorm solutions. The meetings are scheduled to occur the afternoon of Aug. 21 and the evening of Sept. 5. Space is limited and registration is required. (Note, SCMS back to school night is also Sept. 5!)

🔹August 8, 2024: Open House from 9:00-4:00 PM. This is an opportunity for students and families to take a self-guided tour of the building, locate classrooms, etc. Please note there are no formal presentations this day. This is simply a day for you and your student(s) to familiarize yourselves with the building.
🔹August 12, 2024, 5:00 PM: Student schedules available in ParentVue
🔹August 19, 2024: First day of school for 6th grade students only
🔹August 20, 2024: First day of school for 7th/8th grade students

Chesterfield Health Department is offering FREE vaccination clinics for rising 7th and 12 graders this July 💉

In July, the Chesterfield Health Department will offer vaccination clinics at Bird High and Matoaca High for rising seventh graders and 12th graders. Clinics are open to any student who is accompanied by a parent/guardian.

In partnership with local growers, CCPS Food and Nutrition Services will be at the market 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. each Wednesday from June 5 through Aug. 14 serving up free lunches for children 18 and younger.

🎣 Looking for some family fun to kick off your summer? Fish for free this weekend!

Virginians can fish for free this weekend, no recreational license required Starting Friday, some anglers in Virginia will be able to cast their fishing lines into salt waters at the cost everyone can afford.

🚨 Parents looking for yearbooks: Check your email. Dr. Maynes shared they received a limited number of additional yearbooks to sell and will use a lottery system to distribute them fairly. To enter, complete the Google form linked in his email.

📚🎈 Chesterfield County Public Schools invites all students and families to El Librotazo, the big book party. El Librotazo is brand new, so you may wonder, “What is it?”

El Librotazo will take place 5-8:30 p.m. July 9 at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds (10300 Courthouse Road). Every child can choose up to five books to keep. That’s right: Every child from birth through high school will get books for their home libraries. That’s why this is a big book party!

El Librotazo is free. Thanks to support by the Chesterfield Education Foundation and Dominion Energy, there is no cost to attend, take home books or enjoy fun and food at El Librotazo.
