NMI and Missions Leaders, We Need Your Help!
We are all watching the news of Hurricane Harvey, it’s damage and the devastating impact on the people of Southeast Texas and South Louisiana. But how exciting it is to be part of a church who cares and immediately steps in to help any way we can! In my capacity as Administrative/General Manager of Fawn Grove Compassion Center, I have been in daily communication with the leadership at Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, Nazarene Disaster Response, USA/Canada Region, NMI Director Lola Brickey and the District NMI Presidents of the districts in Texas. FGCC has been working to help the survivors by preparing and shipping Crisis Care Kits to Texas. Prior to the storm we had moved a truckload of CCKs into the region where they were staged and ready to distribute. Nazarenes and others on the ground from the beginning of the storm were ready to use them. Yesterday, we prepared another truckload of CCKs which are on the way to Texas to continue to help others. NMI leaders across the country have been mobilizing local churches to send these kits to our warehouse so that they can be used exactly where needed during the storm and now during the clean-up phases. FGCC’s supply of Crisis Care Kits has been depleted and more are still urgently needed! NCM and NMI are asking that CCKs be sent to the warehouse as quickly as they can be prepared in order to keep the supply flowing. It is most helpful to have them come to FGCC so that they are in the system and transfer efficiently to the areas most in need. So, would you consider preparing CCKs and getting them to FGCC just as quickly as possible? A description/instruction sheet on preparing CCKs is attached. They should be delivered to Fawn Grove Compassion Center, 5300 Fawn Grove Road, Pylesville, MD 21132. FGCC is open M-F 8 am to 5 pm for deliveries. Please call FGCC direct with questions or for additional information. The number is 410-452-8699 or you may email to: [email protected]
Thank you for all you are doing to help others during this difficult time in Texas. Blessings, Sharon E Kessler, President Mid-Atlantic District
***Virginia District***
The DRC wants to remind our Virginia Nazarene churches that you can drop off CCKs at the DRC (5906 Harbour Park Dr., Midlothian, VA 23112) Monday-Thursday from 9-4pm. We will make sure that all the CCKs are transferred to FGCC.

A successful end to the Sweet Tea Rule with a midnight run to McDonalds for a gallon plus of their finest brew! And it was good! (No I did not just now drink the entire gallon!) The Sweet Tea Rule is when I give up much of my sweet tea buying in February and set the money aside for Alabaster - the Nazarene missions offering that enables our folks abroad and in the US to buy land and build buildings for churches schools etc. Raised over $60 this month! But it's a LONG month! Praise the Lord Jesus for His work around the world and at home! Sandy
Where do you find the mission schedule???
Merry Christmas to you! Kfeld Christmas Greeting 2016. Peace be with you, dear VA family!
Hi everyone, Just a note to send a path to everyone who wants to know more about our October emphasis- MPO! Mission Priority One. I really encourage every church to reach their goal to be a MPO church . Her's a map your can follow and then go wild with ideas to get creative how to accomplish these . #1-Va. district church site, # 2 district ministries- find the logos like above, prayer, the server bowl with sweet aroma of prayers from God's people, aleaf with a shoot on side, mentering, a loaf of bread, sharingand giving, and a window for educating in what's happening in missions etc. ..There is a launch place to find loads of ideas. Feel free to use everything available ..
Love these symbols above Prayer- the brazer with the image of smoke , the sweet aroma of prayers of God's people rising to the Heavens. A leaf with a small shoot representing mentoring a new generation of believers and leaders, a loaf of bread representing Jesus giving of himself and us for others, and then the window representing educatiing and informing people to meet the world's needs and enabling our church to meet those needs.
Bring Crisis Care Kits and School Pal Paks to District Assembly. This banner will be at the collection point at Harrisonburg First Church of the Nazarene.
Twenty one banana boxes of Crisis Care Kits and four boxes of School Pal Paks were collected from the Virginia District Camp and moved to Charlottesville Northridge Church. The next leg of the journey will be on June 1st to the Fawn Grove Compassion Center.

Plan to go…

Thanks to one of our donors, our local volunteers were treated to a breakfast. These volunteers frequently drop everything to help out with in moment’s notice. They unload and load trucks in all kinds of weather. We are thankful for their generosity of time and muscles!

Please join in prayer for our Work and Witness team from Southside!

The missions team needs urgent prayer for the medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic this November. We are having problems getting approval from the Dominican Republic government for the trip. Here is the prayer request. Pray that God would soften the hearts of those in the Dominican government who are making this decision to allow the team entry, and He will provide assistance with the other details of the trip, especially getting passports processed. If it is God who is closing the door, that He would open the door and guide the team to a new location, and He would provide the resources to address all the details.

Thank you for your prayers!

Today it was my pleasure to share lunch with a few of our missionaries.

Shannon Smith, who you all know, will be in Virginia this fall. She still has plenty of mid-week dates available for a visit.

The Katanga family will be with us June 18 - July 23 2025. They are currently one of our LINKS missionaries. Please help me fill their schedule. They are a wonderful family and you will be blessed when you get to hear their story!

Please message me, Jill Whitt to schedule one of these missionaries when they are in Virginia!

**Update: The Katanga family will now be coming to Virginia in 2025. Let’s start planning to make them welcome when they come. When I have the exact dates I will let you know .😊

The Katanga family is coming to Virginia June 17 -July 23. They are our new “LINKS “ missionaries.* They are from Ghana.

We are looking for hosts churches/families that could provide a place for them to stay for one or more days. They are also available to speak to groups of any size.

If you or your church have a place that they could stay longer that would be a true blessing!

*If you had the Mann family as your “LINKS” missionaries, these are your missionaries and it would be great for you to meet them in person.❤️

05/20/2023

Bill and Sharon Hodges, from Charlottesville, VA First CON, brought LOTS of bags of clothing. Thank you for the donations and traveling from Virginia! The clothing will be sorted and packed for those in need.

Again this year we are compiling gifts for our visiting missionaries to make their stay extra special. They can use gift cards and anything you think would bless them.

*A basket will be available for you to contribute items to at the NMI table in the tabernacle and in the NMI luncheon.

05/13/2023

Please remember to bring your offering to district assembly!!

*If you give ahead of time online please bring a note to put in the offering telling what church gave and how much. Thanks!

Bring your CCKs and SPPs to NMI District Convention in June!

Diane Paladino and Kathy Meyer, from Warwick Valley CON, brought 10 boxes of Crisis Care Kits. Thank you for the donations!

04/22/2023

Let’s help, Virginia!

Jeremy Post brought more than sixty Crisis Care Kits. They were graciously donated by Petersburg Church of the Nazarene and the Mid Atlantic District. Thank you for your donations!

04/07/2023

Did you know that you can support our Virginia missionaries monthly? If as little as 3 people at each of our churches give just $25 a month each they can be fully funded through monthly support!!

Please prayerfully consider printing this poster and sharing it with your home church. (With your pastor’s permission of course.😉) Together we can keep our missionaries funded.❤️

*You can also give one time gifts at the same link. Due to this being a General Assembly year, our missionaries have extra expenses.
