The Foundation Art Award is an annual competition sponsored by the Brightpoint Community College Foundation to showcase the artistic abilities of our college’s students.
Finalists will get to exhibit their work on campus. The winning artwork will be featured in an official Foundation Art Award poster and shared with our community. The winning artist will receive a $250 award, a framed and matted copy of the poster, as well as copies for portfolios. In Spring 2025, the winner will be invited to Student Awards Night.

Looking for a family-friendly, activity-filled event this October? Attend Fall Fest on October 25, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., on our Midlothian Campus. You’ll get to enjoy a haunted house, costume parade, trick-or-treat trail, games, crafts, face painting, bilingual story time, a DJ dance party, and food trucks. Admission to Fall Fest is free, so grab your family and friends and join in the fun!

Head to the Brightpoint Art Gallery on our Midlothian Campus to see our newest art exhibition: Modernizing Traditions, by Desmond Ellsworth. A citizen of the Nansemond Indian Nation, Ellsworth is a Southeast Native American basket weaver whose artistry blends tradition with modernity.
The exhibition will be on display September 12 - October 4. Stop by between 12:00 and 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, or by appointment!

"In Situ" by Lindsay Olsen Steele will be on view March 11 though March 30 in the Art Gallery at Brightpoint.
This exhibition is a conceptual journey considering perfect peace and navigating the unknown. The ancient ceramic materials of clay and wool are combined as mediums, exploring these opposing yet balanced ideas.
Lindsay Steele is an artist and art educator based in Richmond, Virginia. Lindsay has a BFA in Art Education from Virginia Commonwealth University and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Ceramic Arts from Hood College in Maryland.
Reception: Thursday, March 21, 5–8pm.

Brightpoint’s Department of Visual Arts invites you to meet artist Michael A. Pierce during a reception and artist talk on January 25, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m., at The Gallery at Brightpoint (Midlothian Campus, Eliades Hall, room E107). Pierce will discuss his exhibit “we’ll always have rabbits.” The reception is free and open to the community. Can’t make it to the event? You can still enjoy the exhibit.
