Manchester Women’s basketball has qualified for their third straight state finals. Come see the Lady Lancers defend their state title at the VCU Siegel Center on Saturday, March 15 at 4:30 PM. We promise it will be a spectacular show!

Congratulations to the Manchester Concert and Symphonic Bands. They received a unanimous Superior rating from all judges at their assessment yesterday. This makes them an Honor Band of Distinction. This is the 11th consecutive year that they have earned this honor. Well done to Mr. Christopher Fens and all of his talented and dedicated musicians!

Congratulations to Manchester’s Justice Willis! He competed in the state championships in wrestling and was named to the All-County Wrestling team! Also congrats to Coach Hensley!

On Wednesday, we got word from Chad Porterfield that he was planning to join a convoy of trucks delivering disaster relief supplies for the victims of the Hurricane that devastated Western North Carolina. Manchester students and staff gathered supplies to donate and had them ready to go first thing this morning. Thank you to everyone who donated for your thoughtfulness and action!

Manchester High School is celebrating 100 years of Manchester with an open house this Saturday, October 5 from 5 to 8 PM in the school cafeteria. All alumni and former and current faculty are invited to attend. There is no charge for the event. We hope that you will be able to stop by and celebrate with us!

SAVE THE DATE! Established in 1924, Manchester High School is turning 100 this year. On Saturday, October 5, from 5 to 8 PM, Manchester will host a celebration of 100 years. We will invite alumni, retired faculty, current faculty, and dignitaries for an evening of music, light refreshments, displays about the history of the school, and an unveiling of our historical marker.
