" This is one of our favorite activities in our class: "book tasting." It's a wonderful opportunity to explore 50 books, divided up by genres, and find some new choices for our book clubs this year. It was a great success last year, and I look forward to seeing their choices for this year!!🤗

I would also like to give a special thank you to Waxahachie's public library, Nicholas P. Sims Library, for having so many physical books to choose from and for the kindness of three librarians who helped me choose the best books for our students.✝️📚❤️ "

“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

"A group of children came running over to me, so excited!

Child 1: “Ms. Schultz, we found a creature!”
Child 2: “It can fly, and it flew away!”
Me: “Oh! What do you think it is?”
Child 1: “A gecko!”
Child 2: “A fly tiger!”
Child 3: “A flying dragon!”
Child 4: “No, it was a dragonfly!”

We walked over to the tree and found this little guy, a Texas spiny lizard! 🦎

We talked about his name, what he eats, and where he lives. We also talked about what letter lizard starts with and practiced listening for the /L/ sound.

These are the little moments that make learning so much fun! When children choose what they want to investigate and discover, a simple moment outside can turn into a meaningful, child-led lesson. ❤️ "

Oh, Happy Day! No more dragging new city trash cans to the street... 5 feet apart... making sure all school trash is properly bagged with no snack wrappers floating around. No more overflow piles of curriculum and supplies shipping boxes. 🙌
