Show-and-tell isn’t just for little kids! 🌟

For older students, sharing something they care about is a wonderful way to build real-world public speaking skills in a comfortable, meaningful setting. Students practice organizing their thoughts, speaking clearly, making eye contact, answering questions, and presenting with confidence.

Even more importantly, show-and-tell gives students a chance to share their passions, hobbies, talents, and interests. It helps classmates learn more about one another, builds confidence, and reminds students that their unique interests have value.

Sometimes the best public speaking practice starts with simply talking about something you love! ❤️🎤

These kids knocked their first full week of school right out of the park! 🎉

We are incredibly proud of how they have all transitioned from sleeping-in summer days, to early morning math and writing brain work. That's no small feat even for adults! These students deserve a round of applause. 👏👏👏👏👏

"We made the coolest paintings today!
This week we learned that our first form of communication, passing down stories, was through cave paintings.

So today we made our own cave paintings with paper bags and used the colorings that they used back then!"

"They love watching the tops spin and bump into each other. Little do they know, they’re also working on hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills, and proper pencil grip. Sometimes the best learning happens when they don’t even realize they’re learning! ❤️"

Pre-K just went out for their early morning recess before the heat comes in. I walked by their classroom to put something away and was just in awe of the morning light.

God is always reminding us to slow down and recognize His goodness and provision. This school is His school. 🩷

"Math Rotations & Our New Curriculum ⬇️

Since we’ve spent lots of time exploring our math manipulatives, today we took the next step and tried our first round of math rotations! We also dove into our brand-new math curriculum. 📚✨

The kiddos did such a great job working independently while I worked with each small group. Everyone was excited to explore their very first math packet, and I was so proud of how confidently they jumped right in! 💕🔢

We also learned about Carl the Koala. When he is lit up, please do not disturb the group that Mrs. McClure is working with. See if you can spot him in the pics 😍."

"Today in math, we spent more time exploring our manipulative tubs! 🔢✨

It’s important to give kiddos the opportunity to play, touch, and explore new materials before we ask them to use those materials as tools for learning. This time allows them to discover how things work, build confidence, and become comfortable with the manipulatives.

Sometimes, what looks like “just playing” is actually an important part of learning! 💕🧠"
