Midland ConneCTEd is pumped to share our newest camp this summer.

Level Up- Advanced Skilled Trades Camp is a opportunity for your kids to get a deeper dive into Welding and Carpentry. This camp has limit space, age range is 15-18 and interested campers must have some previous experience with one prior year of Starting at Square 1 Skilled Trades Camp.

It's that time of year again to start planning your kids summer! Midland ConneCTEd is hosting 4 exciting camps to explore. If you are looking for something that builds skills, is interactive and just plain FUN than register today.

Below we are introducing 'What's on the Menu', a farm to table culinary experience. This camps allows kids to not only learn skills in a restaurant setting, but allows them see where some of our food comes from. In partnership with Coleman Culinary at The Depot & Coleman Schools AgriScience/ STEM this is sure to be a food-tastic time!

As we continue to share our love of CTE (Career & Technical Education) during February, we would like to take a moment to celebrate and bring awareness.

Midland ConneCTEd believes students don’t have to choose a career destination yet – just a direction. From there, it’s all about the journey. Consider us your tour guides, removing barriers and linking you to opportunities.

FACT: Did you know that in Midland County, students have the opportunity to patriciate in 15 CTE programs that offer both workforces readiness skills and experience.

You can locate a list of these programs by heading to midlandcte.org. Not only are there awesome programs available but Midland ConneCTEd believes that the more experience a students has prior to graduation, the better the post school outcome. We offer many activities to help in the discovery process such as Reality Store, Career Pathway Adventures, Career Search, Job Shadows, Ready. Set. Interview & Summer camps.

Starting off this week with a shout out to Midland County 911, City of Midland Fire Department - Michigan & Midland Police Department Michigan, for attending the career search events this year.

These three awesome community organizations allowed students to learn about the Human Services Pathway, and all the awesome career opportunities and training there is.

Today was another example of how partnerships with awesome companies help local students explore career opportunities.

Sending appreciation to Corteva, Case Systems Inc., MyMichigan Health, LaLondes Market (Jefferson Ave), and Midland Area Community Foundation for participating in Career Pathway Adventures today at Jefferson Middle School.

You may be asking yourself what is this cool event called Career Search? Well let us tell you!

Career Search is a career fair that is open to all 10th graders in Midland County. It’s a great way for students to meet local businesses, ask career related questions and explore jobs. Shout out to Hemlock Semiconductor, Home Builders Association of Great Lakes Bay Region & Saginaw Control & Engineering who came and networked with Midland High School students last month.

Next up are our friends from Consumers Energy, Turner Construction Company & Dow. Please help us give a big heartfelt thank you to these wonderful organizations for attending career search in January to help 10th graders learn about the career opportunities within their organization.

Would you like to be involved? Consider joining Ready. Set. Interview on February 24, 25th and 27th to help around 500 students practice their interviewing skills.
