This page is for all our members, past, present, and future. Come by and say hi!

We're a club associated with Midland College that strives to provide an environment where students and faculty alike can share their appreciation for anime along with other mediums of entertainment that originate from Japan.

Forgot to post this earlier, sorry. :P To those of you who started school this week, goodluck to you all! Hope you all do well in your classes.

Hey all,

How's everyone been? Final's week is next week for us here at MC, so things have been pretty hectic as far as classes go; preparing for finals and doing projects alongside each other is a little intimidating and stressful. HOWEVER, tonight will be our regular meeting night, so we all have something to look froward to to help give our minds a break (if but just a little). For our activity tonight we have a movie night planned. Anyone who has an anime movie they'd like us to see is welcome to bring it to the club. All movies brought to the club will be put to a vote, and the winning movies will be watched (provided there are no time constraints by the campus authorities). Since this is a movie night, all attending members are welcome (and encouraged) to bring snacks and drinks. It'll be just like watching an anime in theaters but without the terrible expense of acquiring food and beverages (and paying for tickets).

As per usual, the meeting will start at 7:00 P.M. followed by anime viewing at 8:00 P.M.If you have time, please pay us a visit in the Senate Room in the Student Center. I believe that's it. Hope to see everyone there!

Hey all,

Sorry for the lack of posting. School has been keeping many others and I pretty busy. So, in order to avoid not posting something during the week, I'll be posting extra early this time! This week we'll be having our regular Friday meeting in the Senate Room in the Student Center. Our activity this week will be a theme night with a bit of vintage feel to it. For this theme night, we'll be viewing an episode of an anime from the year we were born. For example, since I was born in 1989, I'll be selecting an anime that aired during that year. I do believe this will prove to be fairly interesting. As per usual, our meeting will start at 7:00 P.M. and will last until 8:00 P.M. Afterwards, we'll start watching anime. Hope to see everyone there!

Hey all,

Tomorrow we'll be having our regular meeting in the Senate Room. Given the great success of the first one, we have decided to do an "Unlicensed Anime Night" Part 2. As with the first one, the same criteria will apply:

A.) A member can put up any anime so long as it has not been licensed in any shape or form for North American distribution including being licensed on legal streaming sites such as Crunchyroll or the Anime Network.

B.) The content isn't too extreme. I decided to lax the rules on content a tad bit given that unlicensed anime tend to have more extreme content (i.e. more fanservice, violence, gore, et.c.). However, members must still be mindful of the location in which the anime is being shown, so so long as the anime doesn't go too far we'll be alright.

I do believe that covers all the criteria for tomorrow night. As per usual, the meeting will begin at 7:00 P.M. in the Senate Room in the Student Center. Those who can make it, please feel free to come by and have a great time! Hope to see you all there!

EDIT: As a favor to our sister club, the Gamer's Club (T.O.G.A.), we would like to announce that all Midland/Odessa members are invited to Midland College on April 9th for an awesome Mortal Kombat tournament. More details are to come in the following days, so please give their page a like and stay up to date with all their gaming events!

Hey all,

Hope everyone's having a great week so far. For all our Midland College students don't forget that we do not have school this Friday or the following Monday due to the Easter holiday. Having said that, we will NOT be having a meeting this week. We will, however, be hosting a nice little cookout at Windlands Park this Friday at 12:00 P.M. For those not familiar with the park, please use this link to help familiarize yourself with it: http://www.midlandtexas.gov/Facilities/Facility/Details/Windlands-Park-52 All club members are invited, and we hope to have a great turnout. We are asking that those who intend to partake in any food and/or beverage consumption please put in $5 to help cover the costs of the food, drinks, and other necessary supplies. Anyway, we hope to see y'all then! Please enjoy the Easter holiday, and always be safe when traveling.

Hey all,

Tonight we'll be having our usual meeting in the Senate Room in the Student Center. As always, the meeting will start at 7:00 and end right around Midnight. Tonight will be a theme night, and the theme we all chose was "Traps," anime that feature male and female characters who can pass off as members of the opposite gender. We hope to have a lot of fun with this. Anyway, we hope to see everyone there!

Hey all,

Hope everyone's having a great week so far. For MC students, it certainly is a great week since next week is Spring Break for us. Woo Hoo! Having said that, we here at ACMC would like to wish everyone a safe, happy, and fun Spring Break. Party hard, but be safe in the process, and ALWAYS have a designated driver! :)

This week we'll be previewing some shows from the current Winter season. We would like everyone to select a show they want to see and let us know on Friday. As per the last several weeks, we'll be meeting in the Senate Room in the Student Center. The meeting will be from 7:00 P.M. to 12:00 A.M. Hope to see everyone there! Here is a link everyone can use to help with the selection process: http://anichart.net/winter

EDIT: Forgot to mention that the only restriction that will be enforced is that the show can not be a sequel since the likelihood of all members seeing the 1st season (or half in some cases) is extremely low. Other than that, everything is fair game.

Hey all,

Due to the Veteran's Club having an event in the Senate Room, we'll be meeting in the Internet Cafe in the Student Center for our meeting. Today we're doing Unlicensed Anime Night in which we all bring a show that is currently unlicensed and has never been licensed for North American distribution. As per the last several weeks, the meeting will begin at 7:00 P.M. Hope to see everyone there!

Hey all,

Once again it's meeting day. Today we're thinking about doing something a little bit different for our meeting time. How does everyone feel about a "Dinner-and-a-Show" type of activity? Basically, we all get together at a certain time, decide on a place to eat - I have heard a suggestion for Moon Garden, and I have no objections - go eat, and come back for a movie. The time table we're looking at for this is everyone meets up at 6:00 P.M. in the Student Center to decide on a place to eat (hopefully we can select something by 6:30), go eat, and come back at 8:00 to start our movie night. In that regard, everyone wanting to participate, please select an ANIME movie from a legal source - legal website, DVD, Blu-ray - and bring it to the meeting. We'll take a vote to decide which movie(s) we end up watching. Anyway, hope to see everyone there!

EDIT: Forgot to mention something. For those who wish to bring a movie to put up for vote, you must bring ONE and ONLY ONE movie to put up for vote. In the past we've had people who would bring more than one movie to put up for vote, and it just became a mess. So, ONE MOVIE PER PERSON, please :)

Hey all,

We hope everyone's having a great semester thus far, and are able to get back in the swing of things. As some of you may have noticed, the club hasn't been able to have any meetings for a little while now due to some unfortunate circumstances. However, as of today, that changes. We managed to figure some things out, and are good to go! Having said that, we have made a few changes for the semester as far as meetings and meeting times:

For now, our meetings will be held on Fridays in the Senate Room in the Student Center from 7-12 P.M. 7-8 will be our actual meeting hour in which we'll discuss any official club business and 8-12 will be used for our activity time - watching anime, playing games, et.c. Our first meeting of the semester will be today, so please come by if you can make it. Due to us and the Gamer's Club having to share the student center with the Veteran's Club, it's highly likely that space will become an issue, so for our first meeting we'll be doing tabletop games. Please bring any tabletop games like Monopoly, Battleship, and Cards Against Humanity to the meeting.

I do believe that's it for the time being. Any and all questions can be directed to me during the meeting hour. We hope to see everyone there!

Hey all,

I'm calling a special meeting tonight so we can discuss the sponsor situation (specifically, finding a temporary one) and discuss what we're gonna do for the rest of the semester. All who can make it, please meet in the student center near the fireplace at 7:00 P.M. tonight.
