Please join us for an important parent presentation, “So Now Your Child Is 10… Now What?” Officer Rodriguez with Midland ISD Police Department will discuss the consequences students may face when breaking the law, social media and peer pressure, school discipline vs. criminal charges, and how parents can help keep their children safe and informed.

Good evening, Sam Houston families,

Thank you for your patience during dismissal today. We apologize for the delay as we worked through our first dismissal of the school year. We are confident the process will become much smoother as students learn their dismissal numbers and everyone becomes familiar with the routine.

Your child's dismissal number was sent home in their backpack today. Please place this number on your vehicle each afternoon and take a few minutes to help your child memorize their dismissal number. This will help us dismiss students more quickly and safely.

Beginning tomorrow, we will no longer be accepting parent walk-ups during dismissal. If you prefer not to wait in the car line, you may change your child's dismissal plan to Walker. Walkers are dismissed at 4:00 p.m. and may walk to meet you at the coffee shop.

Thank you for your patience, support, and partnership as we continue to improve our dismissal procedures. Our goal is to provide a safe and efficient dismissal for every student, and we appreciate your help in making that happen.

A big thank you to all of the families who joined us for Meet the Teacher Night! It was wonderful seeing so many smiling faces, and we can't wait to welcome everyone back for the first day of school tomorrow.

A few reminders for the morning:
Doors open at 6:30 a.m.
Instruction begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. At Sam Houston, we value every minute of instructional time, so it's important that students arrive on time and ready to learn.

To help ensure a safe and efficient arrival, we kindly ask that all parents remain in their vehicles during drop-off. Our staff will be outside to greet students and safely es**rt them to the appropriate location.
We also want to thank you for your patience this evening. We know some classrooms were warmer than we would have liked due to the ongoing construction. Since Meet the Teacher concluded, portable air conditioning units have been placed in the classrooms and will run throughout the night to help provide a comfortable learning environment for our students tomorrow.

We are so excited to welcome our scholars tomorrow for the first day of school!

A few important reminders:
🕡 Doors open at 6:30 a.m.
🍎 Breakfast will be provided to all students who arrive by 7:30 a.m.
🎒 We will have staff available to help our PK–2 students carry school supplies and get where they need to go.
Students must be picked up by 5:00 p.m. (no exceptions)

Dismissal numbers will be passed out tomorrow to the students. Please ensure you receive these from them. We will ask them to place it in their backpacks.
We know the first day can be exciting—and sometimes a little emotional! To help ensure a smooth and safe start for all students, we ask that parents do not enter the building tomorrow morning. Our staff will be throughout the building to warmly welcome students and es**rt them to either breakfast or the gym.

We encourage you to attend Meet the Teacher tonight and bring your child's school supplies. Having supplies dropped off ahead of time can help make tomorrow morning easier and give you and your child one less thing to worry about.
