Kimberly Scott Science Kimberly Scott Science is dedicated to help inspire life long learners through a memorable scientific experience.

Teachers will find science lessons that help guide their students to explore, investigate, and discover the world around them. My teaching career started with hands-on science and has never stopped. It is a joy to watch students excitement as they uncover the magic of science. Science creates a memorable experience that inspires lifelong learners. I love that I can be a part of that with my studen

ts, presentations, and science fairs. The science lessons I sell help the teacher to create that same experience with their students. I hope you will find great ideas on my page to expand your students learning.

Teaching science without a classroom? You're not alone — it's a common challenge for elementary science and STEM teachers. 🧪🛒

After teaching science from a cart, I've learned that a few small systems make all the difference: pre-filled wash bottles instead of a sink, puppy pads for instant lab cleanup, station bins you can drop anywhere, and a go-to attention signal for when you need the students' attention quickly.

In my latest blog post, I'm sharing the real problems I ran into teaching science on a cart — and the solutions that actually worked. Whether you're a traveling STEM teacher, a specialist without a dedicated room, or just looking to tighten up your lab routines, this one's for you.

🎒✏️🍎Back-to-school season always sneaks up faster than we expect, doesn't it? 😅

If there's one thing I've learned, the first two weeks set the tone for your entire year. (Especially when you are a hands-on science teacher.) Strong classroom management isn't about being strict — it's about giving your students clear expectations and opportunities to practice what is expected.

A few things that have made the biggest difference in my own classroom:
🔹 Teach your procedures like you'd teach content — model it, practice it, revisit it
🔹 Consistency beats perfection — the same expectation every day builds trust faster than any rule chart
🔹 Use cooperative groups and classroom role/jobs to help with transitions and lab safety.
🔹 Tie your classroom management system into what happens in a real science lab. It helps with lab safety as well as teaching them to think like a scientist.

If you're looking to refresh your systems this year, TPT's Back to School Sale is happening August 4th–5th — everything sitewide is up to 25% off with code BTS26. My classroom management resources are marked down too, so it's a great time to grab anything that's been on your wishlist. There is a link to my unique classroom management system, Good Lab Practices, in the comments.

Wishing you all a smooth start to the year! 💛
