Hi Schieber Swim School Families,
As many of you know, Schieber Swim School has grown far beyond what I ever imagined. Over the past several years, we've had the privilege of teaching thousands of children lifesaving swim skills, and because of your trust and support, we're entering an exciting new chapter.
Beginning in September, I will be reducing my personal teaching schedule to just two days each week so I can focus on growing the Schieber Swim Foundation, expanding our lifesaving curriculum, and training other instructors to teach the Foundations First™ method. My goal has always been bigger than one pool. I want to make sure more children have access to effective self-rescue instruction, whether they're in Midland, the Tri-Cities, or someday across the country.
This was not an easy decision, honestly, it has been one of the hardest business decisions I have ever had to make.
Many of your families have been with me for years, and I have had the incredible privilege of watching your children grow from nervous beginners into confident swimmers. Some of you have trusted me with multiple children, referred your friends and family, and become so much more than clients. I am deeply grateful for every lesson, every conversation on the pool deck, and every relationship we have built.
Because of these changes, many swimmers will be transitioning into one of two programs:
Maintenance Lessons with Me
Held on the second Thursday of each month
Designed for graduates who simply need periodic practice to keep their self-rescue and safety skills strong.
A great option for children who are not currently interested in competitive stroke development but still benefit from regular reinforcement.
Stroke Development with Renārs
Weekly lessons focused on stroke technique, endurance, starts, turns, and becoming stronger, more efficient swimmers
Perfect for swimmers who have mastered water safety and are ready for the next step in their swimming journey.
This change will allow me to continue doing what I love most, teaching children lifesaving skills, while also building a program that can reach far more families than I ever could alone.
If your child's schedule or lesson type will be changing, I will be reaching out individually with details. My goal is to make this transition as smooth as possible, and I'll work with each family to find the best fit.
Thank you for believing in Schieber Swim School. Thank you so much for trusting me with your children. It is a responsibility I have never taken lightly, and I cannot wait to see where this next chapter takes us.
With sincere gratitude,
Abbi Schieber-Bundze
