🚨 WINTER WEATHER UPDATE 🚨

Midland ISD will continue to stay closed Wednesday, Feb. 1, because of inclement weather. The National Weather Service at its afternoon briefing indicated that icy weather will persist into tomorrow and that road conditions are expected to get worse overnight in the eastern Permian Basin. NWS also indicated that wind chills will be in the teens in the morning.

🚨 WINTER WEATHER UPDATE 🚨

After evaluating weather conditions this morning, Midland ISD will close today. All schools and district offices will be closed.

The National Weather Service has indicated that inclement weather might continue into Wednesday morning. We will be monitoring the weather and making decisions about tomorrow later today. Decisions on when missed days will be made up will be communicated when they are finalized.

MISD will be on a 2-hour delay tomorrow! We're also going to re-evaluate road conditions in the morning and will let y'all know by 6:30 a.m. if school will be canceled.

🚌 Buses are on a 2-hour delay. Bus-related tardies will be excused.
🔔 Check your campus website for the bell schedule.
🏀 A decision on extracurricular activities will be made by 10 a.m. tomorrow.

All City Orchestra members:

All-City has been canceled this weekend. We will look at trying to reschedule for another time! Enjoy no school tomorrow!!

No school tomorrow (Friday, Jan. 6) for MISD students due to the boil water notice. IDEA Travis and Sam Houston families should consult with their campus. Employees should check their email for information on work.

Welcome back Abell Orchestra! I hope all is well! As we begin this next semester, please be patient with us as we sort our the new beginning of the semester. Mr. Garza and the MISD administration are working on everything! For the students that qualified for MISD All City Orchestra, our clinic and concert starts tomorrow (Thursday). Music and info was left in the orchestra room before the winter break! Mr. Garza will visit Abell tomorrow briefly to make sure all is well! Please share this with your students and make sure we all have this info!
