Proud of all of Midland College Baseball but want to give a huge shout out to Caleb Eagar for being named Outstanding Hitter and making the NJCAA JUCO World Series All-Tournament Team with Logan Flores.
It was an impressive performance and these honors are well deserved. ๐

A third-place finish at the NJCAA JUCO World Series is something to celebrate. But this story isn't about baseball.
It's about friendships, kindness, inclusion and a reminder that Midland College student-athletes represent much more than what happens between the lines.

These boys came off a tough loss on Thursday, May 28, to Johnson County at the JUCO Tournament in Grand Junction, CO. After the game, all the players keep their heads high and signed autographs for dozens of young kids that look up to them. My son, is a young 10-year-old catcher who was so excited that the catcher for your team [Caleb Eagar] took off his arm sleeve and gave it to him after the game. Another kid yanked it out of his hand, put it in his pocket, and ran off.
Needless to say, my son was in tears and heartbroken that the kid wouldn't give it back and instead gave him a piece of trash. On our way out to the parking lot, trying to console my son in tears about the event, who I am assuming was a player's dad asked my son if he was crying because he was wanting an autograph. I told the dad what happened and he said, 'Wait here. Let me see if one of these guys has something.' He then hollered over to a player named Bammer Maes and asked him if he would give something to my son. He did that without hesitation. He brought over his arm band, signed it and gave my son the arm band and a hug. Completely helped turn the whole event around for my son.
I appreciate him and the other players so much. The way he took the time even in what had to be a heartbreaking moment for himself and his team, he still took the time to make a difference for my son. It says a lot to me about the person and man that he is. Way to go young man. You should be so proud of yourself. I know if he were my son, I would be beaming with pride, not just for the great player he is but the great person he demonstrated to be." โ ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐ช๐ฆ๐ญ๐ญ๐ฆ ๐๐ข๐ญ๐ญ
