At Midland College, our Core Values shape how we serve our students, work with one another, and show up for our community.
𝐘𝐄𝐒. We embrace possibilities. We look for ways to open doors, remove barriers and create opportunities.
𝐒𝐓𝐔𝐃𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒. They are our purpose. Their needs, goals and success stay at the center of our decisions.
𝐀𝐂𝐓. We make things happen. We work together, find solutions and deliver meaningful results for the people and community we serve.
YES. STUDENTS. ACT. 💚💛
Three words that define the culture of Midland College and keep us focused on what matters most: helping our students succeed and, in turn, strengthening our region.

Please help us welcome Elizabeth Shydlowski, the new Executive Director of the Midland College Foundation! 💚💛

A Midland native, Elizabeth is bringing more than two decades of experience in philanthropy, public policy and government back home, and she’s putting that experience to work for our STUDENTS. Through scholarships, programs and new opportunities, the Foundation helps turn the generosity of this community into possibilities for students. Elizabeth will lead that work, building relationships and connecting people who want to make a difference with the students whose lives can be changed by their support.

From the shop floor to the classroom. Yesenia Martinez came to Midland College looking for a skill that could help her build a better future for her family. She found welding.

She earned her associate degree from MC, built a career in the industry and, years later, returned to where it all started. Today, she leads the Midland College Welding program as department chair, helping the next generation of welders build their own futures.

And she hasn’t forgotten what got her here. “Just never quitting. That is how you get through.”

Meet Aundre Washington, a Midland College student working toward his goal of becoming a cardiac sonographer.

For Aundre, choosing MC was about finding a place close to home where he could have the support and opportunities he needed to continue his education. After starting his journey in fire and EMS, Aundre discovered his passion for sonography and knew MC was the right place to help him reach his goals.

Inspired by his family’s experiences with heart health, including seeing the care that helped save his grandfather after a heart attack, Aundre hopes to one day make a difference for others through his work in the medical field.

“When I tell you that Midland College helped me every step of the way, I truly mean that,” Aundre said.
