Road construction will significantly affect arrival and dismissal beginning Monday.
🚧 DRAKE STREET TRAFFIC PATTERN
Drake Street will become a ONE-WAY STREET traveling NORTH between Valerie Lane and Dilloway Drive.
You will ONLY be able to access the Woodcrest entrance while traveling NORTH on Drake.
You will NOT be able to approach the school while traveling south on Drake.
After exiting the Woodcrest parking lot, all vehicles MUST TURN RIGHT and continue north on Drake.
Please plan your route before leaving home and allow extra time.
🚗 MORNING DROP-OFF
Once you enter the Woodcrest parking lot:
Kindergarten–2nd grade students will be dropped off at the FRONT entrance, just as they have been in previous years.
3rd–5th grade students will be dropped off at the BACK of the school near the basketball courts.
Please remain inside your vehicle while you are in the car line.
Students should be ready to exit the vehicle when you reach the designated drop-off area.
Please follow all signs and staff directions. Maintaining a steady flow of traffic will be extremely important.
When leaving the parking lot, you MUST TURN RIGHT onto Drake.
🚙 AFTERNOON PICKUP
The same traffic pattern will be used during dismissal:
Kindergarten–2nd grade students will exit through the FRONT entrance.
3rd–5th grade students will exit near the basketball courts at the BACK of the school.
Please remain inside your vehicle while you are in the car line.
When leaving the parking lot, you MUST TURN RIGHT onto Drake.
🚶 CAMPAU TRAIL AND “PATH WALKERS”
Families may also use the walking trail off Campau Drive that leads to the Woodcrest playground.
Students may walk from the trail to their designated arrival area.
We will have additional adults outside to help students find the correct location.
If your child will use the trail after school and meet you on a different street, you MUST notify your child’s teacher.
Please tell the teacher that your child is a “PATH WALKER.”
Do not assume that your child’s teacher knows about this dismissal change.
🚸 DRAKE STREET WALKERS
The crosswalk on Drake will remain OPEN.
A crossing guard will be present.
Students who normally walk and use the Drake Street crosswalk may continue to do so.
Please be patient, cautious, and attentive to staff members directing traffic. The first few days may take additional time as everyone learns the new pattern. We will have extra adults outside to support students and families.
