The last two weeks we have talked about the story of Joseph being betrayed by his 11 brother's which seemed to ruin his life. One problem after another, Joseph choose to hold on to God! There was a bigger story and Joseph became one of the most pivotal people in Egypt during a huge famine which led him to forgive his brothers and saving them from the famine. You and your family might be going through hardships but hold on because there is a bigger story, God cares for you! Ask your kid how WW was!?

We are jumping into Session Three with tissue paper crafts, oblek, quesadillas, and connect four/jenga! The kids took time to solve a puzzle and figured out the secret message "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding!" They then prayed to God and told Him something they are worried about. Ask your kid their favorite part of WW!

Christmas has hit the air at Wonderful Wednesdays! Mini pizzas, sea shells, a DIY lava lamp, and megaphones all pointed to the reason for the season..."For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace" -Isaiah 9:6 Can you spot your WW kiddo? Ask them why we celebrate Christmas!

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding" Proverbs 3:5! The kids jumped through pool noodles, rolled up in blankets like burritos, made trail mix, explored ssssssnakes, touched hot and cold water, and made crosses! We are still talking about TRUST, ask your kid the story about Jacob and Esau and how Jacob trusted God!

That's a wrap on Session One! We learned about how Abraham and Sarah waited a LONG time as they waited for God's promise and eventually, they had a son! They learned to trust God even when they had to wait just like we had to trust each other while unwrapping the candy ball! Register for Session Two beginning November 9th https://messiahmi.churchcenter.com/unproxy/registrations/events/1477340

Have you ever made a plan and it just didn't go the way you thought? We talked about how God called Abraham to move and follow him and that the nations would be blessed because of him, and the whole time Abraham could have not followed God's plan. Our bottom line: God has a plan to show love to the world!

"I'm Sorry God for..." was what the kids took time filling out on their prayer cards as they asked God to forgive them for the bad choices they have made. They took turns dropping food color into clear water as they shared what they wrote. They then placed a penny on a plate, which represented people, and poured the dark water, "sin", that covered the penny/people. They watched as a candle was light, representing Jesus, and as the glass jar was placed over the candle, the water began to be sucked up into the glass, clearing it off the penny. One kid exclaimed "Jesus sucks away my sin!" Another girl was in awe saying "Woah, why would Jesus die for us, he's not even family?" They were reminded that God loves them no matter what, and as soon as they ask for forgiveness, he will forgive them!

Creating silly monsters, exploring new bugs, eating trail mix, coloring the world, and enjoying creation outside helped us understand that God created everything! We all opened our Bibles to the very beginning in Genesis and learned that everything God made was good until Adam and Eve chose to disobey God and sin entered the world. Our bottom line: God loves us no matter what!

WOHOO! The first week of Wonderful Wednesdays was a SUCCESS as kiddos had a BLAST in their new groups, meet new friends, and created/crafted/tasted/explored/ran/and giggled! We read about how Jesus says the most important commandments are to Love God and Love Others! Ask your kid who is their neighbor and ask how they can love them this week!
