Today is Equal Pay Day!! This is not a political issue. I'd love to talk with you about how I can help reduce pay gaps in your organizations.
I appreciate those who've recently allowed me to introduce them to this topic. So many layers are involved. See website for more info on upcoming 2024 Equal Pay Days for non-white women.
“Because women earn less, on average, than men, they must work longer for the same amount of pay. The wage gap is even greater for most women of color.”

It's Mental Health Awareness Month How are are you doing? Your employees?
We blinked and after two years the world "seemingly" returned to normal. No more masks on planes, and many employers requiring people back in the office just "because" it was easier than figuring out new ways of flexibility..oops I meant to build company culture :).
As Maya Angelou said "Know better, do better". We are all tired.

I'm not a big person on "naming/defining" things, but prefer to focus on the concepts. etc. However, when I first learned about the "psychological safety" concept, it gave a descriptive term to the way those in the "people" business help shape teams and it was refreshing.
"When our vulnerability is rewarded, we engage, contribute meaningfully, and enter an offensive mode of performance. We give of our discretionary effort and spend our time creating value.
Where you have Psychological Safety you have high performing & inclusive cultures."

It's refreshing to see a shift in hiring trends like this article mentions.
For several years now, I've collaborated with some amazing colleagues to flush out, discuss, and tirelessly work against historical organizational norms (in government) related to hiring practices.
We shared companywide how focusing on skill sets and other attributes were much stronger indicators of whether a hire would be successful, despite doing things "as they had always been done" which kept many inequitable practices and wage inequities in place.

So on point. As employers, we HAVE to care well for people. The US workforce culture is killing people slowly through stress, unrealistic expectations, etc. It leads to things like high blood pressure, cancer, mental health issues.
