12/14/11 Daily Class Notes
1st hour - 7th co-taught
- we spent the day in the computer lab finishing up our Go Animate projects
NO HOMEWORK
.. 2nd hr - 8th co-taught
- we spent the hour in the computer lab writing business letters. Some students had to finish yesterdays inquiry business letter to Mr. Koski and then they were able to start todays persuasive business letter to Apple.
HOMEWORK
- Cole needs to submit both his persuasive and inquiry business letters to me via Google docs.

3rd hour - 6th resource
- we finished vocab presentations
- we finished the figurative language scavenger hunt
- we reviewed our spelling rules and started a spelling sort. We will finish it in class tomorrow.
NO HOMEWORK

5th hour - 6th co-taught
- we took the final test on the book The Cay
HOMEWORK
- Zach and Nick need to complete Week 5 spelling worksheet
- McKenzie neds to complete week 7 spelling worksheet AND focus question #4

6th hour - 7th co-taught
- we working in the computer lab for the hour completeing the Go Animate project
HOMEWORK
- Noah needs to complete his Bad Boy essay rewrite. It is due tomorrow.

1st hour - 7th co-taught
- we watched Soul Surfer

2nd hour - 8th co-taught
- we spent the hour in the computer lab finishing our research projects, glogster poster, and bibliography. If not finished in class, then it is due on Monday.
***Olivia M has an outstanding ACT writing assignment due no later than Monday.

3rd hour - 6th resource
- we had our spelling test
- reviewed vocab/story elements
- read chapter 4 of The Cay
***On Monday we will have a quiz over chapters 1-4, over vocabulary from those chapters, and over a few story elements that we have discussed along the way.
- vocab words to study are (cay, N**i, torpedoe, oil refinery, Curacao, blackout curtains, World War II, U-Boat)
- story elements to know (plot, setting, main character, minor character, genre, and conflict)
- the rest of the questions will come straight from the chapters.

5th hour - 6th co-taught
- spelling test
- read final chapters of The Cay

6th hour - 7th co-taught
- We watched Soul Surfer

2nd hour - 8th gr co-taught
- we were in the computer lab for the hour working on our research assignment and Glogster poster

3rd hour - 6th gr resource
- students wrote a reflection on the story "Why?", which they read yesterday.
- we reviewed vocab and story elements terms for our upcoming quiz on Monday
- we read chapter 3 of The Cay

5th hour - 6th co-taught
- students had a few minutes to work on their homework from yesterday
***McKenzie, Zach, and Heather have outstanding homework that will be due no later than tomorrow.
- we finished reding chapter 14
- we took a quiz on ch 11-14
- we read chapter 15

6th hour - 7th co-taught
- we watched Soul Surfer

- we finished and corrected The Cay quiz chapter 8-10
