Thank you to all of our new-to-Middletown families and our local incoming 4th graders who joined us for Welcome Night this evening! 💙🌊📚

Our school was absolutely bursting with back-to-school energy, and it was so exciting to see so many new and familiar faces filling the halls!

Please note that students will receive a suggested supply list from their teachers on the first or second day of school. Because supplies may vary by teacher and class, there’s no need to shop ahead.

For now, soak up these last weeks of summer ☀️ — there will be plenty of time for notebooks and pencils soon enough!

Getting ready for a great school year! The suggested school supply lists for Grades 4 & 5 have been published.

A friendly reminder that these supplies are suggested, not required. There is absolutely no penalty if your student does not arrive with everything on the list. 💙

Thanks to the support of our school and PTG, supplies will be available for any student who needs them. Our goal is simple: every student starts the year prepared and ready to learn! 🌟

Here are a few important dates to mark on your calendar:

🌊 August 19
• 5:00–6:00 PM: Welcome to Middletown Family Tours for families NEW to Middletown Public Schools.
• 6:00–7:00 PM: “Catch the Wave with 4th Grade!” Open House for ALL incoming 4th grade students and their families.

📧 August 24
Families of all 4th and 5th grade students will receive an introductory email with their child’s classroom teacher assignment.

💙Middletown Family Day is a FREE, beachside celebration hosted by the Middletown Prevention Coalition and sponsored by Saccucci Honda. This event brings families and neighbors together for games, 🎵 , and fun, family friendly activities that enhance family connections that support a safe, healthy, and drugfree community.

Now in its 17th year, the event builds on the National Family Day movement launched in 2001 by Columbia University which focuses on simple practical strategies that build strong relationships within the family. The movement champions healthy communication and family activities like regular family meals and time together as powerful ways to strengthen parent/child relationships and build trust and resilience. Youth who are connected to family are less likely to be involved in risky behaviors.
