Barn Manager/Rider
We are looking for a reliable, experienced, and hardworking Barn Manager/Horse Rider to join our family-style horse facility. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in horse care, riding, and barn management who enjoys working with both recreational and competitive riders.
Responsibilities:
* Daily care and management of horses
* Feeding, watering, turnout, and some stall cleaning
* Grooming and general horse care
* Exercising and riding horses daily
* Basic flatwork and jumping to 3’
* Helping prepare horses for lessons, training, and showing
* Maintaining horse schedules and daily routines
* Assisting with horse training and sales
* Keeping the barn and facility clean, organized, and safe
* Communicating with owners and helping maintain a positive, family-friendly atmosphere
Requirements:
* Strong horse-handling and horsemanship experience
* Reliable, responsible, and hardworking
* Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
* Riding experience including basic flatwork and jumping to 3’
* Showing experience preferred
* Ability to safely handle a variety of horses
* Good organizational and communication skills
* Willingness to perform hands-on barn work every day
Bringing your own horse may be worked into the position. Lessons are also available at the facility. Opportunities to teach may also be an option for the right candidate.
This is a great opportunity for someone who loves horses and wants to be involved in a family-oriented barn that offers boarding, training, lessons, and horse sales, with opportunities for both recreational riding and competitive showing.
Location- Middletown,NY
Salary of $45,000-$55,000/year
