At Wesleyan, English faculty and students work together to produce new knowledge about literature and to create new literary texts.
The study of literature fosters critical thinking about the relationships among literature, culture and history. Students of English become adept critics of poetry, novels, essays, and plays. News from the CFA: The CFA is hosting two events exploring the historic debate between James Baldwin and William F. Buckley in 1965 and its continued resonance today.

Thursday March 4th at 8pm, the CFA will host Baldwin and Buckley at Cambridge: A Conversation about History and Process with Elevator Repair Service. Members of ERS theater company will discuss the development of a new performance, which is a verbatim re-enactment of the 1965 debate.
