Congratulations to Team Middletown! 🥋

What an incredible day at the Mid Summer Classic Martial Arts Tournament held on Sunday, July 19, 2026, in S**o, Maine!

A huge congratulations to all of our students who represented Villari's Martial Arts of Middletown with outstanding skill, determination, and sportsmanship. Six students made the trip to Maine to compete, and every one of them earned a medal! 🏅 Our students competed in Forms and Weapons, with placements including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place finishes.

The tournament featured exciting events in Forms, Sparring, Weapons, Tai Chi, and Board Breaking, and it was a fantastic opportunity to challenge ourselves, learn from talented martial artists, and make great memories together.

Congratulations as well to Sensei Thomas, who competed in the Adult Kata division and earned 2nd Place!

We're incredibly proud of everyone's hard work, courage, and commitment. Success isn't measured only by medals—it's built through the discipline, preparation, and willingness to step onto the competition floor. Thank you to our students, families, and supporters for making this such a fun and memorable trip.

A Big Congratulations to members of our Tournament Team!

Students from Villari’s Martial Arts of Middletown represented our school at the May 2026 Children’s Martial Arts Tournament held in Connecticut—and they did an amazing job!

We are thrilled to celebrate their hard work, courage, and determination as they stepped onto the competition floor and brought home trophies for their efforts. Each student showed confidence, discipline, and positive spirit.

Tournaments provide an opportunity to test skills, learn valuable lessons, build confidence, and create memories that last a lifetime.

We are incredibly proud of how these young martial artists conducted themselves both on and off the competition floor.

A special thank you goes to Sensei Thomas, who did an outstanding job coaching, supporting, encouraging, and mentoring our students throughout the event. His dedication, leadership, and commitment to helping our students succeed played a huge role in making the day such a positive experience for everyone involved.

Congratulations to Our F.I.S.T. & S.T.O.R.M. Leadership Team!

A huge congratulations and heartfelt thank you to all of the students who participated in this year's Villari's Spring F.I.S.T. & S.T.O.R.M. Training Intensive!

Over two full days of training, our students challenged themselves to grow as leaders, instructors, role models, and martial artists. Together we explored leadership skills, communication, teaching methods, class structure, teamwork, responsibility, and personal development—all while strengthening our Shaolin Kempo Karate foundation.

What impressed us the most was not simply the skills learned, but the enthusiasm, effort, positive attitudes, and willingness to help others that each participant brought to the training. These qualities are what truly define leadership.

Special thanks to Sensei Thomas for his outstanding support and instruction throughout the weekend, and to all of the students and families who invested their time and energy into becoming better leaders both inside and outside the dojo.

We are proud of our leadership team and look forward to seeing how each of you continue to grow, teach, and inspire.

Congratulations to all of our students who traveled to New Hampshire recently to compete in the Twin Dragon Legends Martial Arts Championship!

We are incredibly proud of everyone who stepped onto the tournament floor with courage, focus, and great spirit. Many of our students earned medals and awards throughout the day, but even more importantly, they represented our school with respect, sportsmanship, perseverance, and positive energy. Congrats Sensei Thomas in winning first in the adult forms event!👊🥋

The event was filled with exciting competition, amazing demonstrations, traditional Lion Dancing, sparring, forms, weapons, Tai Chi, Push Hands, and the chance to connect with martial artists from many different schools and styles. It was a fun and memorable experience for all involved!

A special thank you to the tournament organizers, staff, judges, coaches, parents, and supporters who helped make the event such a success.

To our students:
Win or lose, every time you step outside your comfort zone and test yourself, you grow stronger. Tournaments are not just about trophies—they are about character, experience, learning, and the spirit to keep improving. We are proud of each and every one of you!

AMOK! Workshop Highlights + Upcoming Training

We had an awesome AMOK! workshop on March 18th—great energy, effort and focus on functional skill development.

It was great seeing everyone working through real-time, close-quarters training, pushing their awareness, timing, and adaptability under pressure. The progress and commitment from those doing the work continues to impress—well done to everyone who attended! It was awesome to have Andy Levine, founder of Villari's Middletown and who started our AMOK! group in the late 1990s join us as well!
