Our first Jeans Day Fundraiser for the school year will take place TOMORROW (Wednesday, August 26). Students can wear jeans or sweatpants for $3. Proceeds go to support initiatives throughout the school year led by our PULSE group. They can pay their $3 to their homeroom teacher or you can purchase a day pass or a yearlong pass for $25 online. Thursday was a beautiful day to have a fun adventure exploring God’s amazing world. This is a new special class this year at MCS. The Kindergarteners and first graders went on a hike down to the creek by the picnic shelter. We examined rocks, trees, and sticks, and did a brief lesson on how God is the rock on which we build our life. He is strong, and a mighty foundation. This reinforced the book the students read in library class. The Maker of the Mountain (a story about what God is like).

It was a fun adventure and here are some quotes from the children: "This is awesome, I love this, how long can we stay outside?, this is the best rock I have ever seen. "

This year for Meet & Greet, we set-up a letter writing station in the Elementary Library to inspire our students as they started a new school year full of learning, unknowns, and adventures.

We enjoyed giving parents & grandparents homework... as they sat down to write an encouraging note of love, prayers, and scripture to remind their children God is our Firm Foundation and when we build our life on Him we can do all things with His help, love, and guidance. What a tender and kind way to kick off the 26-27 school year.

Over 170 of these letters were delivered to classrooms on Wednesday & Thursday.
