Please join me in offering hearty congratulations to Michael for finishing second in the District 53 Humorous Speech Contest! With five strong contestants in a crowded ballroom, Michael shared his funny experiences and advice for coping with the stresses of teaching.

He did a great job, and it was fun to see how much his speech improved at the various contest levels!

Congrats and high fives!

Congrats to Gloria and Michael for taking home hardware from today's Division C speech contests! Gloria placed third in the International speech contest, and Michael won the Humorous speech contest! They both delivered strong speeches, and you could see the work they put into improving them (and how the club's collective suggestions helped).

Michael earned the opportunity to compete again in the District speech finals, which will take place on Friday, April 24, in Waterbury. The contest opens the annual district conference, which Jen is co-chairing. The Friday night contest is available through a free registration (so the team knows how many people are coming).

Congrats again to Gloria and Michael!
