Congratulations to rising Middletown High School senior student Taliah Jackson, who received the prestigious 2026 Harvard Book Prize, presented by the Harvard Club of Southern Connecticut. Taliah was given this honor over the summer by MHS Principal Dr. Dawn Brooks. Congrats, Taliah! 👏🏻

Today was Day Two of Convocation exercises for our Middletown Public Schools staff! So many of our staff have already been at it over the summer, preparing our schools and facilities to make sure they are in tip-top shape for the first day of school! 🏫

We thank them all for the vital role they play in making our schools a brilliant place to grow and learn, and we look forward to working with them this school year! ✨

THE COUNTDOWN IS ALMOST OVER! We've got one more day of Open Houses before all of our Middletown students head Back to School! Check the list and see if your school is welcoming families for their Open House...and make sure you get some sleep tonight, because we'll see you in the morning for the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! 🍎🐾🐻🐼

Freshman Flashback! 🔵🐉 Between Freshmen Caregiver Orientation and the Freshmen Summer Bridge Program, it's been a busy stretch for our new class of MHS Blue Dragons!!

Last week, at Orientation, parents, caregivers, and incoming freshmen students toured their new school and scoped out the halls of MHS. They got a chance to meet their administrative team and counselors, learn about the many Middletown High School extracurricular activities, and even mingle with others, while eating Italian ice - the rain didn't bother anyone, either! 😊

At Summer Bridge, students had 4 days to connect with their school counselors, administrators, some teachers and visit community members. The days were filled with learning, joy, and activities to support the Grade 9 students in transitioning into high school. Students engaged in community building activities and games, designed vision boards, and made tie-dye t-shirts.

A great start to the year, and a step in the right direction towards the first day of school! 🍎

Back to School season is upon us, and our Middletown Public Schools teachers are eager and excited to welcome everyone back to the classroom for another wonderful school year ahead! 🍎

It was a packed house Monday morning at Middletown High School's Santo Fragilio Performing Arts Center, as teachers were welcomed back at Convocation by Middletown's new Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Joseph Macary.

The rest of the MPS staff will be welcomed back Wednesday for Convocation, before classes start on Thursday, August 27.
