Did you know? Some of our schools have their own hydroponic gardens and raised beds to grow fresh herbs and other crops for our kitchens, and for our meals served daily to our Middletown Public Schools students! This huge basket of herbs - oregano, sage, basil, rosemary, thyme, and chives - were all grown and harvested in those gardens, and used during our recent Chopped It Up event, where our students incorporated them into their homemade dishes for the competition! 🌿🔪

A huge shoutout and THANK YOU to the Middletown Transition Center and the MTC Print Shop for all of the hard work put into our Chopped It Up event! MTC supported this inaugural event with its high-quality and professional print shop by printing the gear worn and used by our student and staff teams, including T-shirts, aprons, and headbands!

Students from Bielefield Elementary School had the opportunity to speak and showcase their creative and inspirational artwork before the Middletown Board of Education during the Board's regular meeting on Tuesday, October 13. The artwork created by these students was inspired by the novel Wonder by R.J. Palacio, and the use of Mr. Browne's Precepts as opportunities for students to reflect on their own choices and relationships to further inspire the type of person they want to become in the future.

Each student displayed their artwork and spoke on the decisions that inspired them to make such abstract and personal choices on their canvas, whether through color, stroke style, shape, texture, or composition.

We are very proud of our Bielefield students for allowing their creativity to thrive and for speaking about such important and advanced themes they have learned about in the classroom!

You can watch Tuesday's Board of Education meeting on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wfej2db0SNU(Bielefield School is the first to present during the District Highlights portion at the beginning of the meeting).
