Did you know St. Anne's was founded at the initiative of St. Andrew's School — created to serve both its faculty families and the wider community? It's a distinctive origin story most schools can't tell, and it's just the first chapter in our 25th anniversary celebration.

🤸 Community Built One Challenge at a Time 🤸

This week, our Lower School Herons hit the field for Wellness with Mrs. DeFino — building Hula Huts, running relays, and learning that success isn't about being fastest, it's about teamwork, trust, and encouragement. Meanwhile, our Preschool artists explored color, shape, and texture with Ms. High, discovering their own unique ways of seeing the world.

And Fall Athletics is almost here! Cross Country, Field Hockey, Volleyball, and Soccer kick off practices September 8th — with Homecoming on the horizon October 16th. Go Herons!

Growth happens everywhere at St. Anne's — on the field, in the art room, and beyond. 🎨⚽

📚 Day One, Full Hearts! 📚

Our youngest Herons in Preschool took brave first steps into new routines and new friendships, guided with patience and warmth. In Kindergarten, students read First Day Jitters, graphed their feelings, and toasted the year ahead with a glass of "Jitter Juice." And our newest Middle Schoolers — the Fifth Grade — began building the routines and organizational habits that will carry them through their first seven-day cycle of Humanities, Science, Math, Musicology, Spanish, PE/Health, and Art.

From first jitters to first agendas, every Heron is growing at their own pace — together.

🌿 Beginning again, together. 🌿

On our first day of school our Middle Schoolers gathered under the open sky for Devotions, while our Lower Schoolers joined hands and voices in grace before their first lunch. Different ages, same spirit — a community coming together before scattering into a new year of lockers, schedules, and first-day introductions.

At St. Anne's, we're more than a school. We're a family that learns, prays, laughs, and grows side by side. Every Heron brings something different through the Red Doors — and together, that becomes something bigger than any one of us.

Here's to a year of beginning again, together. 💚

💚 It's almost time, Herons! 6th Annual Heron 5K Walk & Run + Back to School Bash — Saturday, August 29!

Kick off the 25th school year of St. Anne's with our favorite family tradition! Join us at 211 Silver Lake Road for a morning full of community, movement, and fun:

🐤 Heron Dash (ages 7 & under): 8:45 AM
🏁 5K Race Start: 9:00 AM
🥇 Medals awarded to the top 3 finishers per category

🏆 The grade with the most registrants wins a dessert party in September!

💚 Meet the Teacher & Locker Setup — What a Day, Herons!

Yesterday, our campus was buzzing with the best kind of energy — new backpacks, familiar hugs, and big smiles all around as our students got settled for the 25th school year of St. Anne's!

From little ones organizing their cubbies and finding their name tags, to families meeting teachers face-to-face, to friends reuniting after summer break — you could feel the community spirit in every hallway.

🧸 Our youngest Herons got hands-on, building and exploring in their new classrooms
🎒 Backpacks found their hooks and raincoats found their cubbies
👋 Students and teachers connected ahead of the first day
🤗 Friendships picked up right where they left off

This is what St. Anne's is all about — nurturing the intellectual, social, and personal growth of every student, starting from day one.

Big day on campus today! 🎒
Our PS/PreK–4th graders are meeting their teachers and stepping into their new classrooms for the first time. Meanwhile, our Middle Schoolers are claiming lockers, learning their schedules, and getting Orientation-ready for 5th–8th grade. One very excited campus.

Our faculty and staff wrapped up a meaningful week of in-service filled with learning, reflection, connection, and preparation for the new school year. 💚

Each day began with devotions, a foundation of our Episcopal identity and an opportunity to gather with intention, gratitude, and purpose.

Throughout the week, faculty spent time reflecting on who we are as a St. Anne’s community, strengthening our shared sense of purpose, and developing our hopes and dreams for the year ahead.

We are grateful for this time together—and ready to welcome our students back for another wonderful year at a school where childhood still feels like childhood.
