We had so much fun at the 1st State Family Child Care Conference! Here’s our Quality Improvement Specialist Erika. The keynote speaker Jerletha McDonald did an amazing job! She is a National Family Child Care Business Consultant from TX. Her words truly encouraged and inspired everyone in the building. We will be back next year!!

Meet Ms. Lisha, a compassionate Director with a multifaceted journey in education. She has a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Delaware and a paralegal certificate from Widener University. Having once worn the hat of a homeschooling mom of 3 children, over 20 years ago, she appreciates the significance of personalized learning paths for children. She operated her first home daycare during this time. Prior to opening The Reading Ramp, she was employed as a paralegal with a law firm in Wilmington and as a Legal Case Manager with a medical practice in Newark. More recently, she worked for a non-profit assigned to the Appoquinimink Summer Academy at Cedar Lane Elementary School. While serving as an AmeriCorps reading interventionist at Townsend Elementary School, she addressed reading challenges by working with each student directly. With faith and patience, she helped them develop confidence and discover the joy of reading.

Meet Miss Kourtny !!

Hello, I am very excited to start my journey as Communications Director for the Reading Ramp. I graduated from George Mason University with a degree in Global Affairs. I continued my studies at American University where I graduated with a master’s degree in political communication. I am honored to have the opportunity to collaborate with my mom. As a former home school student, I can speak to the value of personalized learning. I believe that every child deserves to learn and flourish in a healthy environment. After the workday you will most likely find me listening to music, reading, walking, or going into sleep mode.

At The Reading Ramp we place a great emphasis on faith-infused learning and play. We believe that intertwining God with education creates a truly enriching experience for young minds.

We want our passion for reading and storytelling to ignite a spark of imagination in every child. Through engaging activities and captivating narratives, we empower children to explore the world of books.
