Recital season is upon us! We started strong at the Bellarmine Prep Program’s first recital tonight and my student truly did EXCELLENT! While she was my only student performing tonight, we have more coming this weekend. Stay on the edge of your seats everyone! More great music to come 🎶

It's that time! Registration is now open for our annual Fun Fair event, hosted at the University of Louisville's School of Music on November 23rd.

Rhythm, rhythm, rhythm! Lessons are in full swing for Fall 2024, and we are unearthing musical success at every turn.

One of the benefits of having siblings take lessons at the same time is portrayed well in this giggly photo 😊 Group lesson opportunities are far easier to coordinate, and students can work together to figure out new musical challenges.

Don’t forget it’s never too late to schedule a consultation and get started on your own piano journey!

Happy Summer everyone! If you subscribe to my Google Group/Studio Newsletter this will be old news to you.. but..

I'm excited to announce 2 things!

I've accepted a new job! My new position is with The Piano Shop located in Georgetown, Indiana. The photo is of me working on key bushings, something that helps the keys lay in their key bed without making knocking noises or wiggling.

Secondly..

I've accepted a teaching position at Bellarmine University! I've been asked to come back and teach via their Preparatory Program. Now have no fear, I am not closing my private studio, however: I am not accepting new students at this time unless through Bellarmine.

Wrapping up the semester comes with bittersweet feelings. I love looking back and reflecting on all the progress my students have made and how excited I am that they get a well deserved break! But a break means I won’t see most of them until August.

Here are some honorable mentions from our school year:

Two students finished Suzuki Book 1 - congratulations Zoey and Piper!
One student finished Suzuki Book 2 - congratulations Ben!
Three students finished Alfred Theory Book 1B - congratulations Zoey, Piper, and Lucy!
Three student finished Alfred Theory Book 1A- congratulations Andrew, Juno, and Genevieve!
Two new students started their piano journey - welcome George and Vivienne!

Without my students, I wouldn’t be a teacher. Thank you for the JOY of teaching music! See you in the Fall!

This semester is off to a great start, and we have exciting things in the works here at the studio!
I’m so proud of the progress my students have made even in just a few short weeks into this Spring. Remember, it’s never too late to schedule a consultation with me and begin your own journey into the joy of learning piano.

If you want to see Suzuki in action, I’m partnering with Layne Green, a Suzuki Violin/Voila teacher, and her studio recital on February 24th at 10am at Crestwood United Methodist Church. We have 2 of our own students performing in this recital, along with a recognition of one going from Book 1 to Book 2, an amazing milestone to be celebrated!

Is it ALWAYS a good day to make music.. but especially this week! It’s the first week of lessons! I’m so happy to be back in the teacher’s seat with all my piano students😊 if you are new - welcome to the studio. If you’re returning, welcome back! Let’s have a great Fall 2023 🎉

And we're off! The first lessons of the 2023 Spring Semester have officially started. I'm excited about big things for my students in the weeks to come.

Remember: it's never too late to schedule a consultation with me. Even if you can't squeeze in piano this semester, getting questions answered and the conversation started is a great first step.
