An article on the National Library of Medicine website, "Emerging interest in science during early childhood period and evaluating its effectiveness," declares:
"A growing global trend emphasizes the integration of science education into early childhood curricula. The attitudes and beliefs of early childhood educators significantly influence the successful adoption of these pedagogical innovations…
"Despite this potential, science is often underemphasized in early childhood curricula, particularly in contexts where it is perceived as abstract or too advanced for preschool learners. However, recent research…demonstrates that young children can meaningfully engage with scientific concepts when activities are designed to align with their developmental abilities and embedded in play."
