Let me sum it up. Most all of you have gum disease and it's serious! You should care! "It’s safe to say that (oral) bacterial invasion into the soft tissue (gums) has become a silent epidemic. (This bacteria is) entering the bloodstream and elevating the risk of systemic disease." So let's get it under control! Dump your string floss and get a Waterpik Oral Health water flosser. Let's Just Accept That Dentistry Is Absurd

Is dentistry absurd? Let's have the discussion. I left this comment on this Esquire article's website: "I believe that "drill and fill" dentistry is on its way out in large part. Today a cavity (which is a bacterial infection) can be treated medicinally with topical antibiotics instead of treating it mechanically by amputating (drilling!) tooth structure. The medicines used have been classified as "Essential" by the World Health Organization. Sadly, it will take the profession a long time to move in this direction because it wasn't taught in dental school and it doesn't fit the business model of Dentistry that helps support the high cost of education and office overhead." My practice, Victorious Dental, has opened up a new healing lane (no drilling!). Will it catch on with the rest of the profession? Not easily! But it is available here now!!

The pioneer of this new line of research is Professor Robert Enright of the University of Wisconsin-Madison's Department of Educational Psychology and the founder of the International Forgiveness Institute, Inc.
