Madison Community Montessori School has been serving the needs of children (ages 15 months-14 years)

Madison Community Montessori School (MCMS) is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) school founded in 1972. MCMS is the only Montessori school in the greater Madison area to to serve toddlers through 8th grade. The preschool and elementary programs are accredited and recognized by the international accreditation body known as Association Montessori Internationale (AMI). MCMS assists children to develop

and grow into creative, confident and self-motivated adults with a love for learning, creating minds that have the ability to do critical thinking and problem-solving and are well prepared to enter the work place and contribute back to the community.

When a simple lesson becomes a moment of discovery!

With just a few droppers and bottles of colored water, one child explored what happens when colors come together. Yellow met blue, red blended with yellow, and each new combination sparked curiosity, excitement, and another question: "What will happen if I try this?"

In a Montessori classroom, learning isn't about being given the answers - it's about discovering them through hands-on exploration. Activities like color mixing nurture observation, concentration, problem-solving and the joy of experimentation, all while building confidence in a child's ability to learn.

Sometimes the biggest discoveries being with a single drop.

✈️🇯🇵 Our elementary summer students are embarking on an exciting journey to explore Japan! This week, they’ll discover Japan’s rich culture and traditions through engaging, hands-on activities.

This morning they kicked things off with homemade Ramen tasting, Kawaii art keychains, Pokemon and block printing!

Children’s House and After School Program Assistant (CHAS) (Ages 3-6)

We are searching for someone to work alongside others in an environment specifically designed for children ages 3-6. This is an opportunity for the 2026-27 school-year position, which begins on August 24, 2026. (possibility for hours next summer, if interested). This full-time position is from 11:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday, and comes with benefits. This position requires supervision and support for children in the overall school environment, including in the classroom during lunch, outside at recess, nap support for our youngest students, and after school care for those are enrolled in this program. Candidates who have prior experience in a childcare setting or have served in a Montessori classroom previously are preferred. Our Montessori school is having a free “sale” in Middleton on Thursday, June 18, from 8:30am-1:00pm. Many of the items are pet care items and miscellaneous, loved materials from classrooms. All items are free. See photos for some examples of the items.

Enter the building through the gravel path and gate on the left side. All items available are in the community room.

What an incredible start to our Summer Program! ☀️🎉

During our first week, students jumped into exciting activities, made new friends, explored creative projects, and built lasting memories. From hands-on learning experiences to outdoor fun and team-building games, the energy and enthusiasm were contagious!

We are so proud of our students for embracing new challenges and opportunities with curiosity and confidence. Thank you to our amazing staff and families for helping make this first week such a success.
We can’t wait to see what the rest of the summer brings! 🌟
