I know it has been a LONG time since I have posted anything. Spent the last few days learning a little history and exploring God’s amazing creation. As I tell my geography students, get out there and see this great country we live in!!
For those who already use Mission US, this is a really cool addition!

An interesting and in-depth look at Civil War casualties...
Civil War Casualties An examination of Civil War casualty statistics
Lincoln as a lawyer:
"His manner was casual, almost negligent at times, as he questioned witnesses in friendly tones, threw in a witticism now and then,k and good-naturedly conceded point after point until he seemed to be giving away his case. But on the crucial point, he was relentless, trying to put it clearly before the jury, bringing the argument around to it again and again until the dullest mind in the jury understood it. For lucidity of statement and clarity by means of homely analogies he had no equal. He was almost unbeatable when simple right and justice were involved."
Thomas, Benjamin. "Abraham Lincoln, A Biography." p. 99.
In honor of President Lincoln's birthday, I am going to share a quote from or about Lincoln each day this week. The quotes will come from Benjamin Thomas's 1952 biography.
Our first quote is a piece of advice Lincoln gave to a young law student in regards to his method of study. "Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other one thing."
