Middleton High School class of 2026 graduate Isla Holmstrom is leaving her artistic mark with a hallway mural!

Her artwork depicts the mural contest's "belonging" theme, and it will inspire students and staff for years to come.

“Middleton has the most extraordinary art teachers, and they always are looking for extra opportunities for students to find things to do outside of their regular class curriculum,” Isla told the Times-Tribune.

Retired MCPASD teacher Suzy Scudder's children's book, “Count Upon Your Friends,” is earning rave reviews from students and educators!

Ms. Scudder's book draws on her years of teaching fourth grade and serving as a math intervention specialist in MCPASD. The Fitchburg Star recently featured how her book helps young learners build confidence with numbers through storytelling, music and repetition.

She partnered with local artist Anne Bamberg, whose murals are featured in downtown Middleton, to illustrate the book. MCPASD has copies in all of our kindergarten and first-grade classrooms.

Middleton High School teacher Andy Hartman is working to fund six student scholarships for a study tour in Ghana in March 2027!

Mr. Hartman said the tour is a rigorous, curriculum-driven field study designed to challenge assumptions and help students understand history, economics, culture, and global citizenship through direct experience. It will be Middleton High School’s first student travel group to the African continent.

Mr. Hartman has led student travel groups across Europe and Asia, and has seen firsthand how immersive academic experiences can transform students’ understanding of the world and their place in it.

He welcomes businesses sponsorships and contributions from individual donors. Learn how to support students who face financial barriers to international travel: https://loom.ly/WkKYwj0.

Superintendent Dr. Dana Monogue recently visited the Middleton Optimist Club!

At the meeting, Dr. Monogue highlighted that Middleton High School ranked first in Dane County and second in Wisconsin for 2025 ACT composite scores among public, non-charter schools. She also highlighted the District's Significantly Exceeds Expectations rating on the latest Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction school report cards.

She noted the District is considering an operational referendum for the November 2026 ballot to help maintain educational programming amid ongoing inflationary pressures and inadequate state funding. Also, she invited members to nominate MCPASD alumni for the Radiance Award for Distinguished Alumni: https://loom.ly/vF5EXno

Dr. Monogue presents to about 60 businesses and community partners throughout the year, sharing updates on events and activities happening across our schools. We're always happy to engage with community members and strengthen our community partnerships!
