Middleton High School staff showed the power of the Collaboration Foundation from A Cardinal's Journey this week!

During the Cardinal Challenge, staff competed in team challenges like parking lot simulations, photo matches, free throws, and puzzles. This all culminated in a grand rock-paper-scissors tournament in the Varsity Gym.

We're grateful to our staff for engaging in these fun team-building exercises ahead of the new school year. Go Cards!

Many of our schools will host Back-to-School Nights on Aug. 26 and 27, and we're sharing a friendly reminder about our partnership with WayForward Resources and the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District Education Foundation!

We're holding food drives at each school's Back-to-School Night. Look for a donation bin at your school to drop off non-perishable food items or to scan the QR code on the bin to make a financial contribution.

It's heartbreaking that 17% of children in Dane County, including children in our schools, are food insecure. Join us in supporting WayForward Resources and the MCPASD Education Foundation, which supports the Weekend Food Program, to collect as much food as possible for families in need!

Following community feedback and months of financial planning, the MCPASD Board of Education approved an operational referendum question for the November 3, 2026, ballot.

If approved by voters, the referendum would allow the District to continue prioritizing:
➡️ Safe and secure schools
➡️ Low class sizes
➡️ Current curricular and co-curricular opportunities
➡️ Competitive salaries and benefits to recruit and retain high-quality staff
➡️ Ongoing sustainability efforts and facility maintenance

Thank you to everyone who submitted nominations for MCPASD's Radiance Award for Distinguished Alumni!

Aug. 24 was the submission deadline, and we received strong nominations in each of the six categories. Our Selection Committee will meet this fall to evaluate the applications, and we'll introduce our inaugural class of honorees early in 2027!

We're excited to celebrate our honorees during a special ceremony at Middleton High School. During the ceremony, we'll unveil the Cardinal Legacy Gallery, where we will display honorees' commemorative plaques for generations of students to see.
